1 YOUTH 2016 YOUTH SUMMER LEAGUE TEAM PACKET Within this packet you will find the team registration form, team roster and risk waiver forms needed to participate. Please make sure read through carefully and ask questions if needed. Registration can be completed online at or at any YMCA facility. Taylor Ave. PHONE: FAX: basketball@ymcatvidaho.org Game Information Schedule: June 7th - August 4th Games will take place on Tuesdays, Thursday & some Saturdays depending on size of the league. Games schedules and standings will be posted to each team s designated PlayerSpace page. (2) 20 Min. Running Clock Halves / 3 Min. Half Time / Regulation time final 2 minutes of game 7 Regular Season Games End-of-Season Tournament (Each team guaranteed 1 game in tourney) All games take place at: HOMECOURT YMCA 936 W. Taylor Ave Meridian, ID Team Information Premier- League for teams with highly developed skills Competitive League - League for teams with still developing skills 7 Players minimum per team (No max) Teams may consist of players from multiple grades Players may PLAY UP to any grade but may NOT PLAY DOWN Coach must register team with full payment, form team, submit roster and collect Risk Waiver forms. Risk Waiver forms are collected by coaches and presented to YMCA staff at first game. Team provides numbered jerseys and/or t-shirts (dark & white) No scheduled practices or use of schools Amount of playing time is determined by team REGISTRATION DEADLINE: Wednesday, June 1st

2 TREASURE VALLEY YMCA CODE OF CONDUCT YMCA Sports are dependent upon you to act as role models within this program. By simply being a part of this program you must agree to the following: Treat others with respect and kindness regardless of relationship or situation. Adults shall not abuse children including but not limited to: Physical Abuse: Strike, Shake, Withhold Water, Exercise as Punishment Sexual Abuse: Inappropriate Touch or Speech Mental Abuse: Withhold Kindness, Be Cruel, Neglect Verbal Abuse: Humiliate, Degrade, Threaten, Tease Adults must use positive techniques of guidance including redirection, positive reinforcement and encouragement rather than competition, comparison and criticism. Adults must treat children equally and with respect and consideration regardless of ability, sex, race, religion or culture. Adults will refrain from intimate displays of affection toward others in the presence of youth, teams and parents. Coaches, team parents and those affiliated with teams must present themselves in a clean, neat manner and must wear appropriate attire. Smoking; use of tobacco; consumption of alcohol; use of illegal drugs; misuse of prescription drugs during practices, games and in the presence of children is strictly prohibited. Shirts, hats and apparel celebrating/promoting these materials is prohibited. The rules of the game will be regarded as mutual agreements, the spirit of which shall be respected and unbroken. Coaches, parents and players shall not attempt to undermine the rules or engage in behavior meant to circumvent rules. Coaches, adults & players must portray a positive role model by maintaining an attitude of respect, loyalty, commitment, courtesy, tact and maturity. Coaches, adults & players will accept the decision of an official as being fair. Should a concern arise all involved will refrain from making derogatory comments and will respectfully discuss with the official. When/if appropriate Any unresolved issue will not be handled at the game and the coach will contact YMCA Sports Office for follow-up. Abuse of referees, families, volunteers and coaches will not be tolerated; All adults & players must act with respect toward others. Coaches, adults & players will not make negative or demeaning comments toward any individual. Coaches & adults will relay any problems, questions, comments in regard to officials, rules, parents/player issues, facility issues to YMCA Sports Office in a timely manner. All must remember: While winning is desirable, it is not the most important outcome. Role model and teach players and others to respect opponents and win / lose with honor. All coaches, adults, spectators & players understand that youth development is the primary focus of YMCA Sports and should I violate the code of conduct or act outside the values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility they may be removed from the facility and/or may be prohibited from attending future YMCA Sports programs. The YMCA reserves the right to remove any individual from the facility at any time.

I also understand that my conduct and my team s conduct is of upmost importance. My actions will be guided by the YMCA values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility. If I do not hold my team to these values in regard to our conduct and treatment of others I understand that I may be removed from my role and my team may forfeit games with no refund provided.
