This is an exciting time in Moorhead Hockey! We just came off a landmark year that marked 50 years of Moorhead Hockey and 20 years of our girls program. With record numbers of participation for both boys and girls and sustained success at all levels from our high school teams down to our in-house program, Moorhead Hockey is thriving and ready to take on the next 50 years! I look forward to the next 50 years, sustaining our excellence and continuing to build our hockey community! The staff and I are dedicated to maintaining and expanding upon the many great programs we offer to make hockey affordable and accessible to all Moorhead kids, ages 4 to 18, who want to play hockey. We are also committed to enhancing our members experience for all of our players and families, and we are working hard to support our Hockey Director and the Hockey Committee so that they have the resources they need to continue to provide world class hockey programming for all ages and abilities. 2 PLAN TO ATTEND: Moorhead Youth Hockey Association s ANNUAL MEETING Monday, May 4, :00 pm Moorhead Youth Hockey Arena South Rink Round Table Discussion The Hockey Committee will be holding a round table discussion prior to the Annual Meeting on Monday, May 4th at 6:00 PM in the MYHA boardroom. During this time, suggestions for change, comments on ideas or questions you may have can be addressed. This will not be a time to discuss individual players or coaches. Jeremy Gregoire, Hockey Director You CAN Make A Difference!! The MYHA Hockey Committee will be filling the roles of Assistant Hockey Director and In-House Director this spring. The job descriptions can be found on the MYHA website under the documents section. With these titles comes a spot on the Hockey Committee. 3 Two online registration sessions offered for the season! The season JUST ended so why are we already discussing registration for the season? While MYHA continues to do all we can to make hockey an affordable activity for all families, we understand that registration fees, along with all the other back-to-school costs, can add up quickly. MYHA wants to offer families as many options as possible to make it easier to pay for your child s hockey season. So in addition to no increased fees for the season, we are offering an Early-Bird registration with some easier payment options. Early-Bird registration will be opening on June 1st! If you register online by June 30 th, 2015, you will be given the option to pay in FIVE equal installments! If you choose this option the payment breakdown will be: 20% at the time of registration (between June 1 and June 30) 20% on July 15 th 20% on August 15 th 20% on September 15 th 20% on October 15 th (final payment) **All online payments do require a $5 processing fee per transaction *Early-Bird registration will close on June 30 th!!! The regular online registration session will open up on August 1 st, Payment plan options will be the same as the season: 50% at the time of registration 25% on September 15 th 25% on October 15 th (final payment) **All online payments do require a $5 processing fee per transaction For both registration sessions, you will also have the option to pay in full online or pay offline, with the understanding that offline payments will be due in full by October 15 th, Remember, you MUST register online with USA Hockey BEFORE you can complete Moorhead Youth Hockey s online registration. USA Hockey s registration opens on April 1 st for the season. Families whose registration will exceed the family max amount of $860 and who wish to utilize the payment plan will need to call Julie at the office BEFORE registering to get their discount code.

4 The Rink Report.. Another great season comes to a close, and we start the process of taking ice off, making repairs, and after the Valley Vintage Car Show this weekend (May 2 & 3) we ll work on getting the south rink back up in mid-may. Painting the bleachers, railings and walls on the south arena, cleaning and painting the snow pit and cleaning the boards is keeping us all busy. Compressor # 2 has been overhauled. After Blueline is done in June we will focus on the north rink. There is always something to do during the off season! See you at the Rink! Denny MEETING NOTICE The Board of Directors of Moorhead Youth Hockey meets on the third Wednesday of each month. At each meeting the financial records of the association and its gaming subsidiary are available to review by the members of the association. All members are invited to attend. The next scheduled meeting will be held on Wednesday May 7:00pm, at the MYHA Board Room. If you would like to be added to the agenda please contact Julie Durgin at or admin@moorheadyouthhockey.com at least one week prior to the meeting. Rookie, Mites, 8 U Many trophies are left for those who were unable to attend the banquet. Please stop in or contact the office to make arrangements to pick yours up. DONATE CELL PHONES In 2007 MYHA started a cell phone recycling program whereby the association receives a rebate check for the old/unused cell phones that we donate. The donated cell phones are refurbished and utilized for 911 purposes for women in crisis throughout the US and redeployed nationwide to developing countries to improve quality of life through communication. Please place your unused cell phones in the drop box located by the concession stand in the lobby, or bring them into the office to support this worthwhile cause. Please note that cell phones must be in working condition. Cell phones that have water damage or are defective will not be processed by Pace Butler, and can actually COST us to submit! THANK YOU!
