Freshman Nate Marano (Tustin, Calif.) powered the Pioneers past Air Force with two fourth-quarter goals. Marano led all scorers with four goals. Just like the Hopkins scrimmage, we came out and played very well in the first quarter, did what we do and played how we re coached. Things went well to start for us, head coach Bill Tierney said. After that in the second quarter things slowed down a little bit. They get a cross check call in the corner and score on the manup, its 8-4 and now everyone s getting a little antsy. Give all the credit to Air Force though, those kids down 6-1 could have folded, but they didn t. They gave it everything they had.
