The Wolves have a packed schedule over the next few months. They will be participating in several tournaments this season including Ottawa, Kitchener, Waterloo and Burlington. Congratulations to Waterloo Wolves alum, Steve Lorentz, on being named a road game Assistant Captain with the Peterborough Petes. In 2012, Steve was drafted by the Petes in the 12th round; 226th overall. Since then, he has grown 7", gained 60 lb. and after scoring 23 goals in just 58 games, has proved any sceptics wrong is Steve s final junior hockey season. 5 Page 5 Our Success Stories Players who compete for the Midget AAA Waterloo Wolves have committed many years of dedication and hard work to develop their skills. We are truly proud of them. It is our hope that the traits learned while wearing the uniform of the Waterloo Wolves will follow these young men throughout their academic, athletic, and business pursuits. hockey, college/university play, European league and NHL. Over the years it has been very exciting to see our players move on the compete in all levels of Junior As of the end of the seasons, 14 seasons in all, we have seen: 3 of our players make it to the NHL 17 players graduate to Junior A Over 70 players graduate to Junior B Over 30 players graduate to Junior C We have many alumni playing hockey at universities and colleges in Canada and the US, as well as players in Europe. We even have an alum officiating in the NHL and another in the AHL! As Willy Huber always says, "Once a Wolf, Always a Wolf". NHL player you most admire and why Henrik Lundqvist is a very passionate player and he always has the best helmet designs and is just a classy person on and off the ice. He is also one of them best goalies in the NHL. NHL player you most admire and why Shea Weber. Plays a key leadership role, plays a complete game, physically dominant and contributes on both sides of the puck. Are you superstitious? Not really but I do have a certain pre-game routine. I don t find it embarrassing but I guess classical music. I make a mean bowl of cereal! Are you superstitious? No. My Mom s fav Christmas album got on there somehow. That s embarrassing.
