8 Canadian Armed Forces Present Wolves with Flag In January 2011, the Waterloo Wolves were surprised and honoured to be presented with a flag and a plaque from the Canadian Armed Forces, thanking them for their support through the Hero to Hero campaign. This is the second season the Wolves have taken part in Hero to Hero. The flag that was presented was flown during Mission Athena in Afghanistan at the end of MCpl Perry Thomas (pictured below proudly wearing his Wolves jersey) presented the flag to the players at a road game in Cambridge. He returned to Afghanistan just days later. The men and women in the photo have been following the Wolves online and cheering them on from the base in Kandahar. In a recent , MCpl Thomas had this to say: It was good to see you all again. It was a good game even though the guys lost; always good hockey watching them! I am glad the parents also liked the flag. It was a small thing to do for the team after what they did for us. We will follow the playoffs online and see how far they go. Keeping fingers crossed that they will win it all.
