ENGLISH/WESTERN DIVISION: Saturday, March 24, 2018 CHECK-IN: 7:00 10:00 AM SHOW: 9:00 AM ELIGIBILITY: To be eligible you must be 8 years old by September 1, Junior/Intermediate are age 8 through 13 as of September 1, Seniors are age 14 through 18 as of September 1, ENTRIES: An Exhibitor may ride English and/or Western. Walk / Trot classes are for beginner riders who have limited show experience or NEVER cantered at a show before. Once a rider has cantered at a show, shown at a District or higher level, they can NOT enter walk/trot classes. Walk-trot riders can only enter classes 1, 4-7, 10, 13, 17 & 20. The maximum number of classes entered is five (5). If entering five classes, one must be Showmanship. DEFINITION: An entry shall be considered one (1) individual entering one (1) horse. If sharing a horse, the horse is limited to six (6) classes, one (1) showmanship. No individual can exhibit multiple horses.

2 FEE: Fee is $25.00 for up to 5 classes, payable to Clay County Fair to be paid day of show. Driver s license must be present unless paying by cash. DELIVERY: All vehicles must enter the Fairgrounds using the EAST Gate Entrance located on County Road 315C (Springbank Road). Only horses entered in the show permitted on the grounds. For Speed Events on March 23, 2018, gates open at 4:00 PM. Foe English/Western events on March 24, 2018, gates open at 7:00 AM. Coggins will be checked at entry and at registration. No exceptions. If you do not have your Negative Coggins, you will not be allowed to unload your horse. FORMS: All entries must be completed online at It is your responsibility to make sure your entry form was received. Deadline to enter is Friday, March 12, 2018, 4:00 PM. No exceptions to the deadline. or faxed entries will not be accepted. Please call the Fair at (904) if you have questions. LIMITATIONS: The Clay County Fair Association, Inc. reserves the right to reject any entry at any time, and for just cause, to revoke awards earned or to terminate any exhibitor. Such a decision is final. CONDUCT OF CLASSES: Discipline appropriate attire required. All exhibitors are required to wear an SEI or SEI/ASTM approved safety equestrian helmet with fastened chin harness in all classes and all warm-up and make-up areas. Additionally, appropriate footwear and approved helmets must be worn, with harness fastened, at all times when mounted. This pertains to the entire show grounds from the time of arrival until departure. Failure to comply may result in disqualification. (SEI - Safety Equipment Institute, ASTM -American Society of Testing and Measures) Florida 4-H Horse Show Rules apply. In support of acceptance of responsibilities through learning experiences, only the youth exhibitor registered at the current show is allowed to be riding the horse while on the show grounds. "Tuning-up" by persons other than a registered exhibitor is prohibited. Lunging (in a halter with no other tack or equipment on the animal) by someone other than the exhibitor is permitted. Failure to comply may result in disqualification of the contestant. JUDGING: The Judge s decision will be final. When an exhibitor or exhibitor s parent, leader or trainer is guilty of unsportsmanship like conduct, the Show Superintendent or Fair Official may suspend such exhibitor s rights to participate in future classes and/or shows for such a period as judged appropriate. NO COACHING from the sidelines when an exhibitor is being judged. THE CLAY COUNTY FAIR ASSOCIATION LIVESTOCK DIRECTOR AND THE CCFA BOARD OF DIRECTORS

3 The Livestock Director and the CCFA board of Directors will have the final judgment in regard to the interpretation of all rules and regulations. During the creating/typing/printing of these rules, changes, errors, deletions, or omissions may occur, in which case the Clay County Fair Association reserves the right to construe its own rules and regulations, and to decide all matters and differences in regards thereto including amendments. The Clay County Fair Association also reserves the right to refuse exhibitors. AWARDS: Also see Ribbons All premium award money will be forfeited if not collected by the end of the Fair. ROSETTES: Rosettes will be awarded to the first (1 st ) through sixth (6 th ) places in all classes. PREMIUMS: The Top Six (6) individuals in each class will be placed, with first through 6 th places receiving premium money and points. Premium money is payable at the show only. The awards and all premiums are provided by the Clay County Fair Association, Inc. Premium money not collected at close of show is considered forfeited.
