Judging to start at 9:00 AM (As soon as day of show entries are complete). SMALL ANIMAL ENTRY FEES: $ 3.00 per animal, no matter what breed, type, class, or size. CHECKS ONLY FOR ALL MAILED ENTRIES MADE PAYABLE TO: SOMERSET COUNTY 4-H SMALL ANIMAL CLUBS HERPETOLOGY ENTRY FEES: $5.00 per animal SIDEWINDERS CLUB C/O TOM DIETRICH. ENTRIES: ENTRIES ARE TO BE POSTMARKED NO LATER THAN SATURDAY JANUARY 29, An additional $ 1.00 fee per animal will be charged for any entries postmarked after January 30. Postmark will determine late fee. REGISTER EARLY. Phone entries will not be accepted. Day of show entries will be accepted for a $1.00 extra per animal fee. Day of show entries must be in showroom and registered prior to 8:00 AM to be eligible to show animals. There will be a $ 1.00 fee for day of show substitutions. Substitution animals must be the same breed and class. All returned checks will be subject to bank fees. SCRATCHES: NO REFUNDS REFRESHMENTS: Breakfast and lunch items will be available as well as snacks and hot and cold beverages. This is a 4-H show. All exhibits will be shown by the 4-H member. If the 4-H member is not present at the show, the exhibit will be scratched without refund. No changes of ownership will be accepted after initial registration. Please register early to avoid late fees. Please send entries to the show secretaries listed at the top of the animal entry form. This is a box show. No cages will be provided. Bring your own cages. Carrying cages must have leak proof bottoms. All animals will be carried to and from the judging table by the 4-H member. Exhibitors are responsible for being at the show table at the proper time. Rabbits must be earmarked with the coop # in the right ear with black ink. Cavies will have their coop # taped to their right ear. Small animals and herpetology animals will have the coop # taped to the cage. If more than one animal is in the cage, the 4-H member must be with the animals to identify them to the judge. Coop # will be assigned and found on your judging card the day of the show. Diseased stock will be removed from the showroom immediately! Please check animals for colds, ear canker, mites, fleas, and any other health flaws before you come to the show. NO REFUNDS! 2

3 Smoking is not permitted in the building. We assume no loss in case of fire, theft, or permanent destruction. Every precaution will be taken to insure safety and prevent loss. Parents will be responsible for their children s behavior. We expect the premises to be respected. Be courteous of one another and share space in the showroom. Special events: Silent auction table. Any donation of an animal to the silent auction table must be approved by the show committee and come with a food dish, water bottle, box, and completed form with the animal s pertinent information (see attached form). Any animals not claimed from the auction will be returned to the donor. Awards: Awards will be presented to the best of show rabbit, cavy, small animal, and herp. Awards will be presented to the reserve best in show rabbit, cavy, small animal, and rosettes to reserve best herp. Best of breed awards will be awarded to each best of breed rabbit and cavy, when the breed is represented by at least 5 different exhibits and 3 different exhibitors. Otherwise, a rosette will be awarded. Sponsored awards are presented regardless of the number of exhibits. Rosettes will be awarded to each reserve best of breed rabbit and cavy. Rosettes will be awarded to each best of breed and reserve best of breed for all small animals. Awards will be presented to small animals only if sponsored. Danish ribbons to all exhibits: excellent, very good, good. Clover Bud entries are noncompetitive and are not judged. Clover Bud members will receive only judge s comments and a participation ribbon. Judging will be by breed standards. There will be no judging for best of variety. There will be no judging for best of class. Decisions of the judges are final. 8 New Jersey 4-H Event Permission Form for Youth 4H104 Both sides of this form must be completed by all youth participating in overnight activities, field trips, events requiring group transportation, and any other events sponsored through the 4-H Youth Development Program where it is deemed necessary by the event coordinator(s) (paid 4-H staff and/or registered 4-H volunteer) responsible for the youth participants. The form should be submitted prior to the event. The form has five parts: (1) information about the participant and activity, (2) parental permission and liability release, (3) medical emergency authorization and health information, and (4) code of conduct and (5) media policy. 9 New Jersey 4-H Code of Conduct The primary purpose of the New Jersey 4-H Code of Conduct is to ensure the safety and well-being of all participants at 4-H sponsored events and activities. It applies to all participants, with participants defined as 4-H members, their parents, and volunteers. As a participant in the 4-H program, I will: Conduct myself in a courteous manner and treat members, parents, 4-H volunteers, Extension staff, judges and others with respect. Appropriate language and behavior are expected at all times. Respect and adhere to the rules and guidelines of the 4-H program including all those specific to a 4-H event or activity. Uphold an individual s right to dignity by supporting an environment of inclusion which welcomes involvement of participants from all backgrounds. Accept supervision and support from county and state 4-H staff while participating in the 4-H program. This includes acceptance of supervision and support from appointed 4-H volunteers coordinating 4-H events and activities. Obey local, state and federal laws. Participants who fail to adhere to the New Jersey 4-H Code of Conduct are subject to a range of disciplinary actions. Such actions will be taken in compliance with the New Jersey 4-H Discipline Policy and Procedure. When appropriate, immediate corrective action will be taken at the 4-H event to ensure the safety and welfare of all participants. I understand if I fail to adhere to the above Code of Conduct, I will be subject to disciplinary action and potentially prohibited from attending and participating in the New Jersey 4-H Youth Development program. This includes, but is not limited to newsletters, newspapers, brochures, and displays. In doing so, the names and photos of members may be included to help tell the 4-H story.
