1 PENN TATE BERK CAMPU 1800 BRADCATING RAD Thank you! Thank you for participating in the Girls on the Run of Berks County Fall K event! This information guide contains all the details you need to prepare for a safe and fun-filled morning. Registration Parents, guardians, community participants: if you are planning to participate in the 5K as a community runner/walker or as a running buddy for one of our program participants, you MUT register and pay the entry fee of $28. *Girls on the Run program participants D NT need to register for the 5K. They are already registered for the 5K by GTR staff. There are two ways to register for the Girls on the Run 5K: 1) nline: Please note: nline registration closes on11/14/18 at 5:00pm. 2) In Person (both locations accept cash or debit/credit cards): FRIDAY, NVEMBER 16, 2018 The GoggleWorks 201 Washington treet Reading, PA :00am - 6:00pm (Day of the Event) Penn tate Berks Campus 5K Registration Table 8:00am - 9:00am Cancellation Policy All Girls on the Run 5K registration fees are non-refundable. We reserve the right to cancel or modify the event due to unfavorable conditions. In the case of inclement weather, updates on the status of the 5K will be posted on the Girls on the Run Berks Facebook page and the website homepage at U R P N R

2 Bib & T-hirt Pick-Up At bib & t-shirt pick-up, all registered participants will receive a 5K bib and t-shirt (if registered by ctober 22, 2018). *All GTR program participants will receive their 5K bib and t-shirt from their coaches in the Team Zone on the day of the event. Bib & T-shirt Pick-up Locations: FRIDAY, NVEMBER 16, 2018 The GoggleWorks 201 Washington treet Reading, PA :00am - 6:00pm (Day of the Event) Penn tate Berks Campus 5K Registration Table 8:00am - 9:00am 5K Day Event Timeline unday, November 18, :00AM 9:00AM 9:20AM 9:30AM GTR girls arrive and check in at the Team Zone, then enjoy activities in the ponsor Area Warm up and event announcements Assemble at starting line 5K tart! 10-11:30AM Finish Line and celebration After 5K participants cross the finish line and cheer on their teammates, we ask that you keep the finish line area clear as other 5K participants continue to cross the finish line. This is a great time to have refreshments, take photos and celebrate! Free Parking Free parking will be located on the Penn tate Berks campus. Follow event signs to the designated free event parking lots. Please note: The main entrance road (Harper Road) will be closed for several minutes at the start of the 5K (approximately 9:30am) for the runners and walkers; traffic will resume after all participants have cleared the area.

3 UNDAY NVEMBER 18, 2018 Event Map N PENN TATE BERK CAMPU 1800 BRADCATING RAD Where to Go The Team Zone is where all GTR girls will meet their coaches. All teams will have a large sign indicating each team s gathering area. Look for your team sign when you arrive. The Fun Zone is open from 8:00am 11:30am. Girls and other 5K participants will have the opportunity to do happy hair (colored hair spray), take silly photos and participate in activities provided by our sponsors. A variety of GTR merchandise will be on-sale for participants, coaches, running buddies and you! Restrooms will be accessible and refreshments will be on sale inside the Perkins tudent Center (see the icons on the map). Note: there are no restrooms available on the 5K course.

4 5K Course Map N PENN TATE BERK CAMPU 1800 BRADCATING RAD The Course The Course will loop the scenic Penn tate Berks campus on paved walkways and athletic fields, with festivities on the lawn of Perkins Plaza. The event is entirely enclosed within the Penn tate Berks campus. Please note: The first mile will have a few hills, so be prepared to take your time and go at your happy pace! trollers: For the safety of the participants, we ask that all strollers start in the back. Adult participants must register for the 5K, accompany the stroller at all times and assume all responsibility for the child s participation in the 5K. Children 6 and over must register for the 5K. First Aid: An EM team will be located in the lot adjacent to the start/finish line.

5 Refreshments for 5K Participants We will have free refreshments available for all 5K participants after they finish the 5K course. Refreshments for spectators will be available for purchase inside the Perkins tudent Center (see the Event Map) throughout the event. Preparing for the 5K YUR T-D LIT 1. Get a good night sleep. 2. Eat a light meal a couple of hours before the event time. 3. Be prepared for all kinds of weather! ur 5K will take place rain or shine. The event will be cancelled NLY if the weather is dangerous. 4. Dress in layers with this season s Girls on the Run program t-shirt on top. 5. Feel free to bring your own water bottle. Water will be provided at two stops along the course, and at the finish line. 6. Be sure to wear athletic footwear. 7. Get in the spirit with your favorite tutu or other GTR gear! ne Final Note The girls and coaches have worked hard over the ten weeks of the Girls on the Run program. Today is their day to shine!
