He wanted one more ride down Brule Mountain and Ski Brule made his wish a reality. When asked to describe skiing, Peter responded: Flying through the air is a glorious feeling. Returning to terra firma, your skis thudding on the snow, breaks apart the reverie as you refocus on what lies ahead: a river of white to navigate and conquer. As you slalom down the course, you avoid some obstacles, but others, like moguls, you take head-on and at full speed, recapturing the sensation of flying. At the end of the trail, you sweep to a stop, a spray of snow behind you, and celebrate your victory over the mountain. 3 The Best Snow Ski Brule will provide the best conditions at all times. Ski Brule will be the first to open and have the longest season in the region. It s the never quit attitude of the Mountain Crew at Ski Brule that has made keeping this promise possible. When temperatures drop, as early as October, Ski Brule fires up the snowmaking system to ensure being the first to open. Ski Brule s powerful snowmaking system combined with 60 years of snowmaking knowledge, makes skiing in October and May a reality. Under ideal snowmaking conditions, Ski Brule can open a trail within 24 hours. Target Opening: Nov. 9 Snowmaking and grooming is truly a science. Although having state of the art snowmaking & grooming surely helps, it doesn t ensure quality snow conditions. It takes knowledge, experience and a few snow secrets to make and maintain amazing snow. When snow is made and groomed properly, it is impossible to tell the difference between Brule Made and Mother Nature Made snow. Opening Friday Is FREE! I cannot say enough about our adventure yesterday. My son Bryce and I went for our first time skiing and he asked if we could come back next weekend. All of the staff was fantastic...from the lodge to the Rental Center, to the people shoveling, to the lift operators, to the Homestead Lodge staff. We met a 9-year-old that has a lot of family that work at Ski Brule. She was also a tremendous help to us all day! Wish I could thank her too! 4 Is Your Resort I always love going to Ski Brule and never get bored there. This past Saturday my dad and I decided to come up and enjoy the slopes. We were not disappointed in any shape or form. Each trail was groomed amazingly and I even conquered one of my greatest fears after knee surgery of being able to take on Big Bear!! 6 # 1 Family Resort SKIWee: The best way to introduce your child, age four & up, to a sport of a lifetime, is to enroll in Ski Brule s SKIWee program. Children learn to ski through fun and games with emphasis on FUN! SKIWee is taught on Gentle Ben, the no big people allowed starter area. Not only is it fun but it s a safe learning environment. Children learn about equipment, walking, sliding, riding the rope tow, stopping, carrying their equipment and how to get up on their own after a fall. SKIWee sessions are filled with activities on and off the slopes; bounce houses, slides, hot chocolate, face painting, meeting the Kid s Center parakeets Tim & Jerry and more. Childcare: In need of fun off the snow? Or not old enough for SKIWee? Childcare at the Kid s Center is available for children ages one & up. Sessions are filled with activities indoor and out including arts & crafts, face painting, STEM activities, story time and outdoor fun (dependent on children s ages / weather). The Kid s Center (adjacent the Rental Center) offers three, six and seven hours (including lunch) of fun. 7 Kids Are Top Priority We have 3 kids, ages 4 & under and this was perfect! Living in Indianapolis, the drive was worth it! The Pioneer Lodge was super convenient to SKIWee, rental and the slopes. The onsite daycare was super! The remote location is beautiful. 8 Homestead Lodge Quiet Side The mid-mountain Homestead Lodge is one of a kind. Built in the 1800 s by the Oberg family, the restored Homestead Lodge is accessible from Homestead and North Forty Trails. Decorated with antiques and farm implements that were once used to work the land on which it sits, the Homestead Lodge is a can t miss on your visit to Ski Brule. The scent of burgers, brats and pulled pork in the air means it s lunchtime at Homestead Lodge. A favorite gathering place, the Homestead Deck is perfect for telling tales of the day s adventures over lunch. After visiting the other U.P. ski resorts, we decided to try Ski Brule and were NOT AT ALL disappointed. Brule takes amazing care of their slopes. There are a good number of trails for beginner to advanced levels. This is a phenomenal place to learn to ski or improve one s skills. The Brule Lodge is well maintained. There is a second lodge on the backside of the mountain. We stopped for lunch on the deck. Really fantastic atmosphere! We had a wonderful time and will be back! ~Jim DO-BRULE

9 BBQ Dinner, Sleigh Ride & Tubing The Homestead BBQ Dinner will satisfy your hunger after a day on the slopes. Dinner is available Thursdays (excluding 11/22) and Saturdays 5-8:00. The fun begins with the FREE sleigh ride to the BBQ dinner, departing from the base of Homestead trail. Parking is available at the base of Homestead but it is recommended to utilize the Ski Brule shuttle bus from your village chalet or Brule Lodge. Homestead Lodge welcomes you with the sounds of live music on Saturdays and a festive atmosphere. The all you care to eat BBQ dinner features Ski Brule s famous pulled pork, barbecue chicken, mashed potatoes, baked beans, gravy, sauerkraut, rolls, salad, dessert and beverage. After filling your tummy, it s time for Homestead tubing. This traditional hike up the hill style tubing is $4/person, unlimited rides and suitable for all ages. 12 Acrobag Whether it is for fun, trying your first jumps or you are a serious athlete looking to progress to the next level try the Acrobag at Ski Brule. The Acrobag is a tool that will help you focus on learning a new trick without the fear of a hard landing. You can practice over and over again until you get it right and it s absolutely FREE! Snowboarders and skiers are welcome to give the Acrobag a try on Saturday, Sunday and 12/26-1/1, 1-3:00. The Acrobag pass is FREE with a daily lift ticket and available at Guest Services. Helmets are required, liability wavier required (guardian signature required if under 18 years of age) and minimum height 54. Available 1-3:00 Saturday, Sunday & 12/26-1/1 My youngest decided to try a new trick this weekend. He spent every moment he could on the Acrobag and by Sunday afternoon he had perfected it! They have live music, sleigh rides to barbecue dinners, on site lodging, a kid s area, a tow rope park, and a good variety of food at the cafeteria. A great variety of trails with something for everyone in the family. Trails were in great condition and very nicely groomed. We stayed at Big Bear Lodge. It was very clean upon arrival and had plenty of cookware. The slopes were excellent as well. If you are looking to travel later in the season, take the opportunity here.
