4 An evolving document At its meeting on Tuesday 17 May 2011 Kiama Council endorsed a Broadband Strategy.

5 Broadband and Infrastructure Kiama Council s Engineering Department continues to work closely with NBN Co during the planning and installation phase of the first and second stages of rollout.

6 Working with Department of Broadband Kiama Council was the first and only local government in Australia to be awarded and announced as successful, in all three rounds of funding from the Federal Government. Kiama Council has worked to create a holistic framework which will inspire the community and sustainably develop digital initiatives to maximise the NBN.

8 The Kiama Digital Hub The Kiama Digital Hub was the first round of grant funding offered by the Federal Government, which operates from the Kiama Library. Kiama Council is the lead agent.

9 The Pavilion Kiama The Pavilion Kiama is a Council owned and operated community function centre. It also acts as a Business and Community DAC Digital Access Centre, it works to promote the Hub and economic development in Kiama.

13 Blue Haven Retirement Village Blue Haven Retirement Village is an Aged Care and e-health DAC It works to promote the Hub and digital initiatives in aged care.

14 North Kiama Neighborhood Centre The North Kiama Neighborhood Centre is a Community DAC or Digital Access Centre, it works to promote the Hub.

15 Program Kiama Community College The Kiama Digital Enterprise initiative is the second round of Federal Government Grant Funding Kiama received. It operates out of the Kiama Community Centre, located below the Digital Hub. Kiama Council is the supporting agent.

16 Digital Local Government The third round of funding Kiama was successful in attaining was the Digital Local Government program. This initiative will see the transformation of the delivery of Kiama Council services and engagement with the community, making Kiama a Digital Local Government. Kiama Council is the leading agent.

17 Digital Local Government The third round of funding is the most important of all the rounds for Kiama Council because it will transform the way we deliver Council services and engage with the community.

18 Digital Local Government Kiama Council s Digital Local Government program will focus on the delivery of Council s Community engagement workshops. These workshops are run regularly for the benefit of all residents in the Kiama Municipal Council Local Government Area. * Food Waste Trial*

19 Digital Local Government Training will be available to residents who could not previously access the service, as a result of barriers to physical attendance. Target groups include; Stay-at home mothers Land owners, living outside the Municipality Residents with limited transport options Elderly citizens with mobility issues Residents with physical disabilities Youth of Kiama
