2 Wayfinding content The purpose of the town wayfinding signs is to engage the visitor with all aspects of the town. They are not just about signposting the opportunities for shopping and eating, but other attractions and physical locations which will keep visitors in the town for longer, and draw them back. Rather than a simple list of directions, we suggest establishing a hierarchy of information whch can be used consistently over a family of signs - clearly identifying them as part of the town signage project, and clearly marking out different areas of interest for users.
