2 II. VISION, MISSION, OBJECTIVES, HISTORY Our Vision To motivate the disabled people to leading an active and a full-fledged way of life and at the same time to inspire the non-disabled ones to cooperate continously. Our vision is to help and take part in creating values where other's people's needs come first and where communication is based on accepting and understanding dissimilarities. Our Mission Water is where we bring our mission into life. Communication built on grounds of acceptation and understanding is the essential characteristics of our activity. The leading activity is water exercising therapy for disabled people called Aqua (E) Motion Therapy. A conceptual, continuous and methodically led swimming program for the disabled people implemented at all levels, from rehabilitation to a professional sport level is in its approach an unmatched one. KONEV - a methodological series authored by the Association's founders Martin Kovář and Jan Nevrkla makes it possible for people with severe disabilities to move in the water. All the fields of the Association's activity are built on the grounds of a targeted and individualised therapy - In order to dismantle the barriers lying between the disabled and the unaffected population, an example needs to be set of an active lifestyle, which calls for both disabled and non-disabled to fully cooperate. - Motivating the participants in the Association's program to become independent and active in their approach stimulates the others as well. - Helping the participants to reach a considerable level of self-sufficiency means minimalizing the need for assistance in engaging in the social life. - Implementing the program primarily for the disabled children and youth and if the capacity allows to do so, to open it to all age groups and types of disability - has the intention to find an easier way for the growing generation of people with disabilities in order to pursue an active lifestyle and to participate in the social life without being dependent on institutional support. - Offering various program types built on a common basis of an active motion in water therapy Aqua (E) Motion Therapy - The main activity is divided into three areas with specific characteristics: I. YIT - Year-round intensive therapy, II. WIS - Weekly Intensive Sojourns, III. IPT - Individual Preparedness Tests - Allowing an adequate participation in the program for people with different aspirations, expectations and disability - swimmers in the YIT are divided into three levels: I. Compensatory-Rehabilitation, II. Fitness-Rehabilitation, III. Sporting-Rehabilitation, and being divided into groups they may, in various frequency, take part in the year-round swimming. - The YIT is to be implemented as a social activation service - the process follows the methodology of "KONEV - a methodical series of swimming for disabled" whose authors are, the quadruple Paralympic champion Martin Kovář and his coach Jan Nevrkla, both founders of the conceptual framework of teaching swimming for the disabled of the Czech Republic. - A tuition led with expertise and quality, of both the brush-up swimming and sports training, in order that they result in coping with autonomous motion on the water table and reflecting this independence in the day-to-day life. - Acting on the development of the overall personality - Aqua (E) Motion Therapy encourages self-confidence and courage in pursuing new things, it promotes the ability to make decisions independently; the rehabilitation aspects of the active motion-in-water therapy brings about an increased joint range, vital lung capacity as well as a strengthened residual functional potential or a settlement of the muscle imbalance, scoliosis, prevention of pressure sores and other secondary complications resulting from a particular type of disability and diagnosis. Objectives The Association has established strategic, long-term and short-term objectives. The objectives proceed from the mission of the organization. The Centres of the Association create a framework for the implementation of individual goals of a swimming trainee and a shift in the quality of each and every individual in the level of swimming exemplifies his involvement in everyday life and creates natural conditions for participation in the local community and in areas other than merely swimming. The Strategic Goal - 10-year horizon (up to 2020) To create conditions for methodically and professionally guided swimming lessons of people with disabilities in all counties of the Czech Republic. Long-term objectives - the horizon of 4 (up to 2014) Stabilization of the program in the root centers in Prague, Brno, Karlovy Vary and České Budějovice in compliance with the standards required from a social service provider. Introduction of processes in accordance with the requirements of ISO standard. Preserving the current capacity of social services in four centers, that is to say a total of 285 posts. 3 Short-term - Horizon 1-2 (up to 2012) Managing of the program in accordance with the social services quality standards in the four existing centers of the Association. Proposing systematic staff and volunteer training from areas where the KONTACT bb training program has created conditions for regular swimming events for the disabled, that is to say Jihlava, Děčín, Kladruby, Kutná Hora, Zlín, Liberec. Accrediting the Association as a training point of swimming for the disabled at the Ministry of Education. Establishing an optimal rate of service users in different levels of the swimming program. Updating the source and control tests of the level of swimming and scheduling the setting of the test in a regular time period on accession to the social service and by the end of the swimming school year in June. Increasing the number of those swimmers of the regular annual training who involved in the series of the Czech Cup races. Four swimmers filling the international criteria to receive a nomination in the Summer Paralympic Games in 2012 Values C ontinuity O ppenness Independence Therapy Adaptation Creativity Transparency History 1985 Jan Nevrkla and Martin Kovář meet quite often inside and in the vicinity of the Kajetánka hall of residence, at the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport in the Tyrš House of the Lessor Town, and in the student canteen of the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport of the Charles University in the Všehrdova street, but without being interested in each other to any great extent 1989 Martin Kovář stopped skiing and, one day, he arrived at the canteen on a wheelchair 1991 Martin Kovář persuades Jan Nevrkla, and both of them start to visit a swimming pool 1992 Martin Kovář organises the first course at Strahov while Jan Nevrkla and Milena Vavřičková (Dušková) manage the course 1993 Start of the cooperation between Jan Nevrkla and Roman Doudy Vojáček 1994 During their one-year stay in Israel, Jan Nevrkla and Milena Vavřičková (Dušková) teach physically disabled people in the Ilan centre at Kiriat Haim, near Haifa, swimming and modern gymnastics; Radka Kučírková, Stáň a Soukupová (Hrachová) and Roman Vojáček keep running the swimming courses in the Czech Republic and manage weekly stays in Strakonice and at Strahov Owing to Zdeněk Škaroupka, the Kontakt programme is launched, under the umbrella of Brno s League for Wheelchair Users Rights. Jan Nevrkla makes the rounds at rehabilitation hospitals, contacts the men and women who have just broken something in their bodies, hs stayovers with swimming lessons for them at Strahov and in Strakonice. Regular intense coaching starts in Prague. The core members of the future national team, Martin Kovář, Tomáš Scharf with coach Jan Nevrkla, set out for the European Championship in Perpignon for the first time, with the journey being financed by their medical companion Jan Hnízdil. He decided to support the new programme in this way using the money he had earned during his healthcare activities with professional cycling teams Kovář and Coufalová are the first swimmers who represent the Czech Republic at the Paralympic Games. Kateřina Coufalová, coached at Slavia by Daniela Kočovská, is the first Czech paralympic SWIMMING WINNER At the European Championship in Badajoz, where the participants travelled by a bus of the Ta Fantastika theatre, KONTAKT won its first medals at a large competition by Kovář, Kunová and Tunzer; Coufalová became the European Champion The preparation committee, consisting of Jan Nevrkla, Michaela Žertová (Grey) and Roman Vojáček, prepares the association statutes, name and registration. is established at its first General Assembly in the U kaskadéra restaurant in Strahov, Prague. Milada Kunová wins the first medal in the World Swimming Championship in New Zeeland; the medal is bronze. Coufalová wins silver, while Martin Kovář spends the World Championship in a hospital Roman Doudy Vojáček establishes a centre in Brno, and becomes a pioneer in building up a programme primarily focused on swimming by children with congenital disabilities. Kovář and Hoffmanová become European Champions in Braunschweig, Germany; Coufalová repeats her previous success; Machala wins another medal, and yet more evidence of the swimming progress is the medal won by the men s relay team. 4 2000 Two g medals from Sydney plus seven additional ones; Kovář and Hoffmanová become Paralympic Champions and world record hers; moreover, they win three additional bronze medals together. The legendary relay team of Kovář, Kuna, Povýšil, Scharf finishes the entrancing race by two tenths of a second behind the third British to improve the Czech record by six seconds. Machala adds bronze in a fantastic crawl sprint, while Coufalová wins the same medal in a 200m medley with a great improvement of her personal record. Swimmers of the young and new generation, namely Lišková and Povýšil, win the silver and bronze Michael Johnson, the world s best athlete for 2000, becomes patron of the project Doing Sport to Live a Life Without Barriers, while Doc. Pavel Kolář is the expert guarantor of the project, and Tipsport, a.s. is the main partner. Owing to the project, we establish centres in Karlovy Vary, České Budějovice, Janské Lázně and Jindřichův Hradec. Even without Kovář, who takes a breather in 2001, and Coufalová, who announces the end of her top-performance swimming career after the Paralympic Games in Sydney, Czech swimmers confirm at the European Championship in Stockholm that they are some of the world s best. Hoffmanová wins four European Championship titles; additional titles are won by Běla Hlaváčková, a new member of the team, who is coached in Náchod by Roman Hakl; and the women s medley relay team of Hoffmanová, Hrozná, Hlavá _ ková, Kunová defeats the relay teams of the swimming great powers from the United Kingdom and Germany Milada Kunová, who has returned after her maternity leave, wins the g in the finish again comes to Ostrava. We carry out a programme for 500 people a year. Kovář wins two titles in the World Championship in Argentina; Hlavá _ ková wins one; and the men s crawl relay team wins silver, which has been the greatest team success in the Czech paralympic sport so far comes to Kladruby swimming becomes part of the rehabilitation process and, compared to the beginnings of our activities in the middle of the 1990 s, when water was taboo for paraplegics and quadriplegics, this has been a great breakthrough, with great job done by KONTAKTbB. Zbyněk Švehla becomes the first European to finish the Hawaiian Ironman; in Brno, we host the first EUROWAVES, with the participation of 28 countries, as a substitute for the European Championship that is not held Kovář wins three g paralympic medals and breaks three world records under Acropolis - the best result of the Czech sportsman in the Summer Paralympic Games, which nobody has outdone so far. More paralympic titles won by Hlaváčková and Coufalová, who resumed swimming in 2003 and fully practises at KONTAKT. Kadeřávek wins the bronze in the S1 class, thus confirming the quality of the swimming programme, primarily oriented, especially at the beginning, on people severely affected by spinal lesion Launch of the swimming programme in Jihlava, under the umbrella of SK Vodomílek. We h another year of EUROWAVES. In October, Zbyněk Švehla finished Hawaiian Ironman for the second time, and the long triathlon in the total time of 13:38:33, fourth in his category of physically challenged, with 1,300th position of all 1,800 participants implements full-year swimming lessons in 7 centres. One g, two silver and five bronze medals won by swimmers at the World Championship in Durban, South Africa. Although a new generation has largely replaced the previous one, the team remained among the top fifteen countries; Hlaváčková confirmed her unrivalled position among the world s best; Lišková and Povýšil returned to the medal podium after a period of stagnation; Petrá _ ek debuted in the team with a silver medal; and Hlavinka also made his way among the best of the world The association is registered as a provider of social service. This involves higher requirements for the implementation of our programme, which is concentrated in five centres, three of which being main ones, in Prague, Brno and Karlovy Vary, and two smaller ones in České Budějovice and Ostrava. We h another successful EUROWAVES. In an effort to take part in the Paralympic Games in China, some, previously successful, swimmers and a former coach, who had been provided with the background and whose way to the world s elite level had been paved by in particular, decided to join a different organisation in late 2007 and early 2008, and to secede from the association and people who had led them to date. On the other hand, swimmers Lišková, Franěk, Mach, Andrýsek, Hlavinka, who had also met the criteria to take part in the Paralympics, stayed where they had learnt to swim, had drunk their first beers, experienced intense coaching sessions as well as evenings with swimmers and coaches who are close to them, even though they could not take part in the Paralympics, with a chance of achieving individual success Brněnský Drak has increased the number of the race series. Zbyněk Švehla went to Kona, Hawai to become the Iron man for the fourth time already taking with him and being of tremendous support to Michal Šiška, who stands as a shining example of the realization of the mission of KONTAKT. The international swimming contest EUROWAVES was held for the first time in Chomutov. Four world records were surpassed as well as one European record. Martin Kovář, the founder of the swimming program, has fathered a child called Jan. For the first time since the founding of the program, we witnessed the Summer Paralympics as mere spectators. The Paralympics hosted six followers of the program, who half a year before the venue of the Paralympics transferred under obscure circumstances to another organisation. Two of them, the most experienced ones won one silver and four bronze medals. The others fell behind their personal records in the balance of a single final race. The exit of the seven swimmers did not interpolate the fact that we organise the Document: PR_101231_VZ_Annual-report.doc Strana 4 (celkem 25)

5 program for 300 people, the majority of whom are not interested in paralympic-like grand projects. KONTAKT bb did celebrate its tenth anniversary of its founding with peace and dignity We've proudly started calling the program of the Swimming academy beyond borders. The main activity has been concentrated in four centers - Prague, Brno, Karlovy Vary, České Budejovice. The České Budějovice centre was joined by a full-time former head of the Prague Centre Jan Janousek and under his leadership, the center began to develop promisingly. The 3rd. year of the Czech Cup came through successfully and we carried out again the EUROWAVES meeting in Chomutov. There was a breakthourgh Constitutional Court Finding in the dispute concerning the membership of the Czech Union of disabled athletes (ČSTPS) with the Czech Paralympic Committee (ČPV) and based on this finding, the Supreme Court handed down the verdict at the end of the year that ČSTPS has never stopped being a member of the ČPV. This decision was upheld the 13th April 2010 by the Municipal Court as the sixth judicial instance. The verdict relates to our sports clubs that are members of the ČSTPS, and indicates that our swimmers who have resisted the attractions of transferring to another organization, had been unjustly denied the right to participate in the top Paralympic competitions The Court nailed down that the Czech Sports Organisation for Physically Disabled never ceased to be a member of the Czech paralympic committee. The latter carried on its arbitrariness and immediately after the verdict had come into power, it expelled the Czech Sports Organisation for Physically Disabled for allegations on non-payment of membership fees. The participation of the swimmers of on this year's top international races had therefore been blocked. The Czech Paralympic Committee (CPC) rejected to licence internationally Kateřina Lišková and Vojtěch Fraňek, whose 50 m butterfly world record in Brno could not have been acknowledged. The CPC equally rejected to shield the EUROWAVES international race which we have organized since We therefore organized a home-born national Championship which was successful and highly motivating for the swimmers. We secured the swimming part of the Junior World Games IWAS in Olomouc which was highly valued by the participating countries. Kateřina Lišková was inducted to the Barrierless Pool of Fame. However after some pressure from the International Paralympic Committee IPC, the CPC had to start enlisting our swimmers to international competitions which opens up the possibility for swimming at another Paralympics. Despite the decision to bring her national team carrier to an end, Kateřina would have done a good job. The phenomenon going by the name of Martin Kovář is unwaveringly heading for his fourth Paralympics though this time on a handbike. In 2010 he reached the 3rd - 4th position in the European Cup Race ranking and on all races he reaches medal positions on regularly. The founder of swimming getting his fifth g medal this time on the motorway? The 3rd Areas of major activity YIT - Yearlong individual training Motto: "On the wave of solidarity" We've become a registered provider of social services, which we've implemented at the YIT area since 2007, The main therapy is an active movement in the water - Aqua (E) Motion Therapy. The swimmers are divided it into three levels: I. Compensatory-Rehabilitation, II. Fitness-Rehabilitation, III. Sporting-Rehabilitation The YIT area goes hand in hand with the training program for the centre's volunteers and instructors and with the collaboration with professional schools and universities. Thanks to the impingement of, the Rehabilitation Institute in Kladruby included swimming into the rehabilitation process. The swimming proposal was introduced at the Hamzova odborná léčebna in Luže Košumberk, and we guarantee also the syllabus for the subject Physical Training and Sport for the Physically Disabled at the Third Faculty of Medicine, Charles University in Prague. Regular physical activity in the water brings about improvement in physical fitness. At the social level, it offers the opportunity to cultivate friendships and relationships. Usual activities outside health care facilities offer the opportunity to exchange experience from school, work or about various "tweaks" important for a better mastering of self-service. Everything can help to focus on leading an active and independent lifestyle. Engagement in the regular free time activity is fundamental. It can help open up new horizons namely to parents with children with congenital handicaps. As the existing horizon is often framed mainly by surgeries, rehabilitations and specialized medical institutions. The possibility of taking their child to swimming lessons, just like their neighbours send their children to tennis, may be a strong stimulus for their family life. Owing to the methodical series KONEV by Jan Nevrkla and Martin Kovář, we can teach swimming even to people with severe physical disabilities. A total of 292 people with physical disabilities, 53% of which are children and young people under 18, were engaged in the YIT in all the centres. The preparation and implementation of the swimming program is assisted by sport clubs that have been established round the centres in Prague, Brno and Karlovy Vary, in accordance with the association's code of rules, as separate legal entities which fill in the swimming lessons in the regions with sport activities and other free time activities Document: PR_101231_VZ_Annual-report.doc Strana 5 (celkem 25)

A total of 121 swimmers have made use of the service, which consists of 11 sixty-minute sessions at 17 swimming lanes a week. Following the tradition, the Centre guaranteed 3. the syllabus for the subject Physical Training and Sports for the Physically Disabled at the Third Faculty of Medicine, Charles University in Prague. The weekly intensive course was frequented by a total of 20 students of physiotherapy. The students became familiar both theoretically and practically with the specifics of swimming and other sports for the physically disabled people. The Centre organized a seven-day residential event for adults called A Sharp Start Anew (See chapter WIS), the 19th Strahov Cup race (in chapter IPT). In April we managed to meet at the burning of the Prague witches. In June Quidditch finished the school year, and the Fishing for the Strahov carp signalized the oncoming Christmas. In the second half of the year the lessons were transferred to the premises of the newly built Sportareál Družstevní in Řečkovice The quota of the service, 85 persons, was fully used. The swimmers were offered 10 sessions in 5 swimming lanes in two school pools a week, in the second half of the year there were 17 lanes available. The Centre organized a lecture and a practical training for students of the Faculty of Sports Studies at the Masaryk University and implemented year-round swimming lessons for children in social need from the Children's Centre in Brno. This year the Centre organized two residential events - for the youngest children called the Fairyland and the Dawning for teenagers (see chapter WIS) as well as two races - the domestic high spot the Championship of the Czech Republic and the Brno DRAGON (see IPT) In the course of the year these following events livened up the spare time. There were three bowling tournaments, a ball called the Harlequin ball, a May-Day stroll On the tracks of Hynek, Vilém and Jarmila (according to a piece of work of a famous czech poet Karel Hynek Mácha called Máj /May/) and at the end of the year there was the Cup of the buddings of Brno which was followed by a winter Advent gathering. The Centre's swimmers also participated in a regional competition for Document: PR_101231_VZ_Annual-report.doc Strana 6 (celkem 25)

8 Throughout the whole year 8 swimming lessons in 8 swimming lanes were prepared in the IGY commercial centre and at the Town Pool per week which were attended by 33 swimmers, 10 more swimmers compared to the previous year 2009 under the leadership of Jan Janoušek. The performance of the swimmers from the South Bohemia is also improving - the expedition of the České Budějovice centre participated in the whole series of races of the Czech Cup and Adam Šimonek in the competition among other 22 pupils won the 5th place in the Czech Cup. The Centre has earned its place among the non-profit organizations in the region and seeks financial support from local sources. This would significantly set the program forward at the center and allow its further development. The South Bohemian region is in need of such financial support. These 16 volunteers helped with the swimming lessons. Jiřina Bartoňová, Zuzana Frantíková, Barbora Fuksová, Kateřina Galová, Petra Hovorková, Eva Kovalčíková, Jindřich Kovařík, Kateřina Krotká, Lenka Kunová, Petr Němec, Martina Rusínová, Jan Samec, Tomáš Tlustý, Lenka Tringlová, Eva Vániková and Irena Vániková. WIS - Weekly Intensive Sojourns Motto: "I want to live, survive and experience!" Residential events is an area of activity, from which the entire program of the association unwound. It therefore shows the vision, mission and goals of the association in an concentrated form and time period of one week. Every day is busy and the intense two-stage swimming lessons are framed by a thematically focused experiential program CIH - Creatively Intuitive Harmony. In the course of the week programs of volunteer training take place. Classification of swimmers according to type of their disability and compensatory exercises is ended by a swimming race as a test of learned swimming skills. Our staff and volunteers at the event provide the necessary personal assistance and matters associated with the provision of social services (basic counseling, etc.). The sojourns provide our clients with the opportunity to spend them with a family member, such as the family holiday residence in Strakonice. One of the steps towards self-sufficiency, primarily to a psychological self-sufficiency, may be to undertake a weekly stay of children or adults after injury out from the family framework, or health care institutions. Residential events are organized for age groups of children, youth and adults for beginners and advanced swimmers. XIV. Sunrise Organizer: Brno Centre Term: Venue: Svitavy The Swimming Academy beyond barriers was undertaken by thirty-one swimmers aged 12 to 20, that were taken care by a team of seventeen volunteers and five staff members of the association. They prepared a challenging educational program which goes by the name of PEKLO (meaning hell in czech language) - an abbreviation standing for the sphere of Swimming and ecology - (in czech Plavecký a EKoLogický Obor). The swimmers were presented with a swimming training program aimed at improving endurance so the number of kilometres they were able do was a surprise for them. There was no frear of exhaustion as the correct dosage was observed by the co-creator of the swimming methodology, the chairman of the association Mr. Jan Nevrkla. So, although the swimmers were tired after each workout, they had just enough energy for other swimming lessons or for the onshore activities including high-quality rehabilitation exercises. This year, the additional program focused on ecology with the entertaining short lectures of dustman Joe and Zlata Vymetalová and planting of the tulips was done under the leadership of the horticultural capacities Mařka and Božka Girls in Action taught swimmers to cook and bake delicious delicacies and the highlight was the lecture of our graphics designer and the association's court photographer Vít Franta on his experiences during his month in India. The students went to the centre of Prague to see a play based on the story of the famous writer Bohumil Hrabal called Postřižiny. The fishermen with and without wheelchairs gathered at the pond near the school farm of the Secondary Agricultural School in Dobešice u Písku. The contest for the longest fish was won by Karel Pauch and the member of the Supervisory Council of Miloš Hirman caught the most fish. V. PhDr. Jaroslav Potměšil, Faculty of Physical Education and Sport at the Charles University, Department of Pedagogy, Psychology and Didactics The funeral of Jaroslav Potměšil wa in December. His shining optimistism and energy stays in the memories of everyone. He was a true, wind-beaten skier and a university teacher being always close to his students. He worked in top positions in sports on the Ski Union and after he experienced closely the reality of the life of his son Jan tied to a wheelchair he lead the group of people in the alma mater of all gym teachers, who were trying to make eduaction of experts in sports for the handicapped easier and to make it possible for the disabled to study and get a degree too. In the second half of the nineties he assisted in the implementation of the swimming program in the university swimming pool in Prague Hostivař and as a doyen of our club, he participated in our gatherings, meetings and helped us to crystallize ideas. His son Jan came to swim with us from time to time and he came to stay with us in Strakonice encouraging the motivation of the youngest as well as the er members. Jaroslav passed away - leaving behing a vivid footstep. The footstep he left on the snow was already covered by new snow. Jaroslav, thank you for everything. Peace to your soul!
