2 WELCOME Allegheny North Swim Club (ANSC) is a 501(c)(3), a not for profit corporation USA Swimming affiliated club Part of the Allegheny Mountain Swimming division of USA Swimming All swimmers must be residents of the North Allegheny School District Our team has a history of great success and results! 2

3 EXCELLENT COACHING Head Coach: Patrick Wenzel Assistant Head Coach: Shannon Tieppo Assistant Coaches: Brittany Glass, Stacie Sloan, Stephanie Graham, Rachel Craig Bell, Corky Semler (former NA Varsity Swim Coach) Their biographies can be found on the ANSC website The tenure of the coaches provides for the stability and success of the team; all have roots within the North Allegheny swim community 3

4 BENEFITS OF ANSC Wholesome environment to learn the skills and technique of competitive swimming An understanding of hard work is achieved Development of respect for teammates and coaches Time management skills are established Team-building Individual improvement 4

5 PRACTICE IS VERY IMPORTANT! The only way to improve is to go to practice The 50% Rule swimmers must attend 50% of the scheduled practices throughout the year to still remain on the team for the following year In the case of an absence, there is no need to the coach; if the swimmer knows they will miss a practice ahead of time, they can just let the coach know when they see them 5

11 HOME MEETS First Splash: October 14 15, 2017 All swimmers (Senior Group and Age Groups) AMS Bronze Champs Meet: February 17-18, years and under swimmers 11

12 MEET STRUCTURE Each meet has two sessions per day AM Session: 7:00 AM Noon* PM Session: Noon 5:00 PM* *These are general times and may vary based on timelines and job assignments Each age group will be assigned to a session and may vary between morning and afternoon 12

14 VOLUNTEERING AT HOME MEETS Each family must volunteer for TWO sessions each meet That equates to four sessions this year (First Splash and Bronze Champs) Substitutes may be hired in the event you are unable to volunteer at a rate of $60 per session A $200 penalty will be charged per session for non-compliance of assigned jobs Sessions must be worked whether your child is swimming or not An allocated CONCESSION FEE of $20 will be charged to each family for each home meet 14

15 BE AN OFFICIAL A Stroke & Turn Official counts as a volunteer job for ANSC home meets 6 apprentice sessions are required along with passing an online test Once the apprentice sessions and test are completed, 6 more sessions are required to earn a $100 credit towards ANSC dues Sessions must be completed by June 30 Credit will be received each year you remain certified and work the minimum number of sessions (12 sessions per season) We hope to have officials commit to working at least 2 sessions per ANSC hosted meet Great way to learn about the sport and be on deck 15

16 SWIM SUIT SALE SEPTEMBER 2018 Team swim suits Practice suits Swim caps Flippers Goggles Towels Snorkels Bag Warm-up suits 20% Discount on Speedo branded warmups, duffel bags and training aids when purchased from our swim store partner, B&R Pools Orders will take a few weeks to arrive and may be picked up during swim practice 16

17 ADDITIONAL SPEEDO CONTRACT BENEFITS Swimmers who qualify for Nationals, Junior Nationals, US Open, or NCSA Championships will receive a tech suit, apparel and equipment from Speedo While there are no longer discounts for Sectionals or Futures, all swimmers will receive a 25% discount on Tech Suits when purchased at the following meets: Team Pittsburgh Christmas Meet AMS Gold Champs Meet 17
