1 FINA List 19 - Expressions of Interest Swimming Australia and FINA are calling for suitably qualified officials to nominate for appointment to FINA List 19. This list will be valid from 1 January 2017 to 31 December 2020 and will include new certifications as well as the successful renewed certifications from List 17. List N 19 will include the periods of the 17th FINA World Championships 2017, 6th FINA World Junior Swimming Championships 2017, XXXII Olympic Games 2020, 14th FINA World Swimming Championships (25m) 2018, 18th FINA World Championships 2019, 7th FINA World Junior Swimming Championships 2019, 3rd Youth Olympic Games 2018 and 15th FINA World Swimming Championships (25m) Interested persons should read the below information carefully and return the expression of interest form to Swimming Australia by 18 April 2016 via to officiating@swimming.org.au Eligibility - Only Referees and Starters who have served in these positions at minimum two (2) National Championships (Opens, Short Course or Age Group) during the last four (4) years can be accepted; - Applicants must be an Australian citizen - Age limit: only applicants born 1952 or later will be accepted - Each Federation can have 3 Referees and 2 Starters on the list; and - Federations organising above-mentioned competitions can have up to eight (8) Referees combined on Lists 18 and 19. Selection Process Swimming Australia Ltd (SAL) will implement the following process to determine the appointment of officials for FINA List 19 Referees and Starters. 1. Call for expressions of interest from suitably qualified officials using the attached EOI Form 2. Form a subcommittee of the SAL Technical Swimming Committee (TSC) known as the FINA List Recommendation Panel 3. The FINA List Recommendation Panel will consider the following information on each of the candidates: a. Available NOAP rankings from National Championships b. Recent national assessments of each applicant c. Information on the SAL Expression of Interest Forms

2 d. Other relevant information as determined by the Recommendation Panel (such as further consultation of the Technical Manager, National Officiating Assessment Panel or applicants). 4. The FINA List Recommendation Panel will recommend the desired candidates to the SAL Board via SAL TSC for approval based on: a. Technical performance over recent National Championships b. Contribution to high performance officiating c. The suitability of the candidate to represent Swimming Australia at an international event. 5. Swimming Australia, in its ultimate discretion, reserve the right to amend this process if appropriate.
