Unpack and layout the contents of the Pro-Stringer carry bag on a suitable work table Select the table clamp and tighten it firmly to the middle of the table 2. Screw the mounting post into the table clamp and tighten firmly 3. Place the rotational racket bar on top of the mounting post and ensure that it spins freely Pro-Stringer 2012 Page 1 of 8

Place the racket on the rotational racket bar with the handle of the racket at the end of the rotational racket bar that contains the length adjustment thumb wheel - refer to the photo Adjust the thumb wheel on the rotational racket bar to suit the length of the racket head 5. Secure the racket to the rotational racket bar by placing the frame retainers over the threaded lugs of the rotational racket bar at both the top and bottom of the racket head Complete the mounting process by using the butterfly screws to firmly fix the racket to the rotational racket bar 6. Select the desired stringing tension in pounds (lbs) by turning the tension control knob on the Pro- Stringer An indicator 'needle' identifies the tension selected 7. Plug the power adapter into the Pro-Stringer and secure by tightening the safe guard Plug the power adapter into a wall socket NOTE: Use an appropriate power plug adaptor where necessary Pro-Stringer 2012 Page 2 of 8

4 Section 2 - Stringing Your Racket - "Main Strings" Measure off the required amount of string needed for the main strings (vertical strings) and cross strings (horizontal strings) of the racket NOTE: Stringing can be undertaken with one continuous length of string for both the main strings and the cross strings of racket (2 tie off knots). Alternatively, two lengths of string, one for main strings and one for the cross strings can be used (4 tie off knots). These following instructions are for the scenario using two lengths of string. 1. Weave the middle two strings through the racket frame and down to the opposite end of the frame Pull the strings through the frame and ensure each string is the same length 2. Using the wider flying clamp, clamp the two middle strings, L1 and R1 together (L1 = Left 1 and R1 = Right 1 from the middle of the main strings) Continue to weave the string on both the left and right hand sides of the racket frame until the main strings are complete. NOTE: Weaving and tensioning can be completed one string at a time or as in the case with these instructions all of the main strings are pre-woven and then tensioned one string at a time Pro-Stringer 2012 Page 3 of 8

5 3. Commence tensioning by lifting up the selected string, in this case L2 and placing the string through the string guide of the Pro-Stringer Move the Pro-Stringer up against the frame of the racket 4. Place the string deeply into the rotary tensioning head and press the blue tensioning button 5. The Pro-Stringer rotary tensioning head will turn applying tension to the string When the rotary tension head stops turning and the green light illuminates the desired tension has been reached 6. Use the second clamp and clamp L1 and L2 firmly at the top of and as close to the frame as possible Make sure the clamp is secure and holding the tension Press the tensioning button and release the string from the machine The rotary tensioning head will return to the original position Pro-Stringer 2012 Page 4 of 8

Rotate the racket and select the next string to tension, in this case L3 and repeat steps 3-6 Continue this process for all of the main strings on the left and right side of the racket NOTE: For the main stings rotate the racket to tension each string 8. When all of the main strings have been tensioned, tie off the left and right side of the main strings using a half-hitch knot and repeat this knot twice Cut off any remaining string, leaving 1cm tag from the knot 9. Remove the clamps The main strings have now been completed Pro-Stringer 2012 Page 5 of 8

7 Section 3 - Stringing Your Racket - "Cross Strings" 1. Start the cross stringing process by tying off the string using the same half-hitch knot used to secure the main strings at the top of the frame Weaving the cross string under and over each main string until the opposite side of the frame is reached Pull the remaining string through the frame and tension the first string using the same process as described for the main strings 2. Weave the 2nd cross string under and over each main string using the opposite pattern as used with the first cross string Tension the 2nd cross string 3. Clamp the 1st and 2nd cross strings as close to the frame and Pro-Stringer as possible Pro-Stringer 2012 Page 6 of 8

Weaving and tensioning can be completed one string at a time or as in the case with these instructions all of the remaining cross strings are pre-woven and then tensioned one string at a time NOTE: For the cross strings rotate the racket to tension each string 5. When all of the cross strings have been tensioned clamp as close to the frame and Pro-Stringer as possible 6. Release the tension and remove the Pro-Stringer Tie off the cross strings using a half-hitch knot and repeat this knot twice 7. Cut off any remaining cross string at the top and bottom of the frame, leaving a 1cm tag from each knot Adjust the strings by hand to make sure the main and cross strings are perfectly straight and evenly aligned Pro-Stringer 2012 Page 7 of 8

Remove the butterfly screws and frame retainers Take the racket from off the rotational racket bar Dismantle and pack away the Pro-Stringer and tools into the specific sections of the carry bag A few Useful Tips String tensions can be impacted by many factors including court type, ball type. Weather conditions, player style etc. As a starting point we suggest a tension of 52lb. As you begin to understand how these factors impact your game, tensions can be adjusted accordingly. Remember that in general terms: o The faster the court, balls and playing conditions, the more control you need, so a higher tension is required to compensate for such conditions o The slower the court, balls and playing conditions, the more power you need, so a lower the tension is required to compensate for such conditions If you plan on stringing a racket that is not going to be used for a few days consider increasing the tension, as racket string tensions naturally drop over time Enjoy your Tennis Pro-Stringer 2012 Page 8 of 8
