2 2017 Conditions of Entry The tournament Committee has entire control and management of the tournament. Once the draw is made there will be no refunds for late withdrawals or washouts. The tournament is conducted under the rules and regulations laid down in the ITF Rules of Tennis. All Players must be financially registered with Tennis NSW. All players must be members of a Tennis Seniors Association. Registration forms are available from the Tennis Seniors NSW website or at the registration desk during the tournament. If not a member, membership is free up until 30 June All competitors must submit the entry form at page 4 to be eligible to play. Fees must be paid before your first match. Acceptance of late entries will be at Tournament Directors Discretion. All events will be played as a round robin format. All matches will be First to 6, tie break at 5 all except for the American doubles which will be best of 8 games, tie break at 4 all. The Committee may vary the format of play for any event if weather conditions warrant such action. Winners for all events will be determined by sets won, if equal then games and if needed a count back. Players must be the respective age by December 31st The Committee reserves the right to transfer entries to a younger age group or combine events as required. All players must be correctly dressed in recognised tennis attire and only tennis shoes shall be worn. Players can only participate in one event per session. The Committee will try, without obligation, to find partners for doubles events if requested. Cost is $10 per person. American Doubles Format: No set doubles partner. Sets will be best of 8 games with a tie break at 4 all. You will play one set with each person in your pool up to a maximum of 4 matches per person. Individual scores are tallied and the person with the highest individual score is declared the winner. Maximum 5 players per pool. Event 18: This is the signature event of the tournament and is for the Dave Matthews Perpetual Trophy. Two groups will compete in this event with the Group winners playing off for the perpetual trophy. Current holders are Craig Edwards and Glenn Armstrong. Prize Money: All winners and runners up will receive prize money except for Event 18. Winners of this event will receive engraved pewter mugs whilst the runners up will receive etched beer steins. Friday Afternoon: Commencing at approx 4.30pm there will be a Mens doubles exhibition Match at Nelson Bay Tennis Club. All players, their families and visitors are invited to join us for nibbles and drinks from 4.15pm. Soft drinks, coffee and tea will be available in the Club House. The Club will provide complimentary biscuits, cheese and savoury snacks. Sale of Alcohol: It is anticipated that Alcohol will be available for sale pending temporary liquor license approval.
