2 WTA WORLD NO.1 RANKING UPDATE: There are now six players with a chance to hold the No.1 ranking after the US Open as Johanna Konta lost her opening match, and Wozniacki fell in the second round. Despite her opening round loss, Simona Halep can move to No.1 after the US Open if none of the below happen: Muguruza reaches R16 Svitolina reaches SF Ka.Pliskova reaches Final Wozniacki, Kuznetsova or V.Williams win the title Garbiñe Muguruza needs to reach the R16 in order to have a chance of moving to No.1 Next Match: 3r, vs. Magdalena Rybarikova Elina Svitolina needs to reach the SF in order to have a chance of moving to No.1.
