Despite her opening round loss, Simona Halep can move to No.1 after the US Open if none of the below happen: Muguruza reaches R16 Svitolina reaches SF Ka.Pliskova reaches Final Wozniacki, Kuznetsova or V.Williams win the title Garbiñe Muguruza needs to reach the R16 in order to have a chance of moving to No.1 Next Match: 3r, vs. Magdalena Rybarikova Elina Svitolina needs to reach the SF in order to have a chance of moving to No.1.
