PETERSBURG, RUSSIA JAN 30 FEB 5, 2017 USD $753,000 PREMIER EVENT QUARTERFINAL QUICK HITS All eight of the 2017 St. Petersburg quarterfinalists are bidding for their first title of the season, while Yulia Putintseva, Natalia Vikhlyantseva and Kristina Mladenovic are gunning for the first WTA singles titles of their careers Reigning champion Roberta Vinci is looking to successfully defend a singles title for the first time in her career. She is on a six-match winning streak here in St. Petersburg following her 2016 triumph and reaching the last eight this year By reaching the quarterfinal, Vikhlyantseva has posted the best result of her professional career, bettering several second round efforts. Meanwhile Putintseva is looking to match the best result of her career by reaching the semifinal, having made the last four at a WTA event three times before.
