Competition & Tennis Activity Reports Saturday Mens Comp o Season from 24 October to 19 March o Kensi fielded 9 teams in singles/doubles format & 2 teams in the doubles comp = total of 65 comp players o 3 more team than 2015 o 2 teams in Div 1 o 1 team in Div 2 o 1 team in Div 3 o 2 teams in Div 4 o 1 team in Div 5 o 2 teams in Div 6 o 2 teams in doubles comp o 1 team in Div 1 Saturday afternoon comp o 7 teams qualified for finals o 4 teams played in grand finals with the Div 2 team winning o Adrian Boulton = Player of the Year (Doubles Div 2) o Mark Mildren = Player of the Year (Div 4) o Coordinated by Wayne Campbell Ladies Mid-Week o 6 teams from Div 1 to Div 5 o Div 2 Team Black won the grand final o Social committee (Pauline Fielden, Joanne Rudd & Mardi Pedler) organises graded Round Robin Tournaments at start & end of season which are also good fundraisers o Coordinated by Edwina Baird (to August 2015) then Mardi Pedler (current) Monday Night Mixed Comp o Run in terms 1 and 4 o Term 4 Kensi fielded 10 teams (30 players) o Term 1 Kensi fielded 12 teams (36 players) o Term 4 winning team = Hugh Griffin, Emma Comley, Carol Young o Term 1 winning team = David Gore, David Perry, Colin Parker o Attracts significant numbers of non-members o Coordinated by Rosie Budenberg Wednesday Night Social Tennis o 6 courts under lights from 28 October to 1 June o Growing participant base o Coordinated by Gloria Sumner, assisted by David Henderson, Steve Cundy, Wayne Campbell, Glenn Roder

Greenkeeping Outstandingly responsive, dedicated services by Glenelg Turf (Sharon & David Rogers) Contract with Glenelg Turf renewed for next 2 years Q&A Forum with Greenkeepers on AGM agenda 8. KGBTC Constitutional Changes Major review of club s commercial status, governance, structure undertaken previously by Ian Cooper & John Witham in 2014 Working Party of John Henderson, Phillip Grant-Allen, Neil Jones KGBTC Special General Meeting held in February endorsed changed structure: o Board of Management o 3 undesignated members to join Board

Burnside Council Kensington Gardens Proposed Development Council (10 to 15 year) master plan distributed to community for consultation Many proposed components around the whole precinct gardens, ponds, parking, etc Key elements for us reduced grass courts & a hub building arrangement to be shared by Tennis (Kensi & ETKG), Bowls, Rugby and Cricket Consultations resulted in massive community objections to hub concept from clubs and residential communities KGBTC Submission (jointly between Bowls & Tennis) submitted to Council antihub KGBTC/ETKG joint Tennis Precinct submission submitted to council proposing a much more cost effective re-development plan o Anti-hub o Retention of 15 grass courts + additional hard courts o Vision for the premier tennis precinct in Adelaide o Potential for possible coming together of Tennis Section of KGBTC and ETKG in future o Excellent joint submission prepared largely by Keith Payne & Deane Jarvis with some input from Allan Wells from ETKG o Consultations are ongoing with council and other precinct stakeholders (including Tennis SA, Rugby & Cricket) 10.
