6 G regory Gym - the Horns' House - is one of the finest collegiate volleyball facilities in the country. The gym that has hosted some of the most memorable moments in Longhorns volleyball history made its much-anticipated return in 1998 after an eight-year renovation. During the last nine seasons, Texas has boasted some of the greatest fan support in the country and consistently ranks among the nation's leaders in home attendance. From the families who have supported the team for decades to the more recent Hellraisers (a student support group), Gregory Gym has one of the best fan bases in the nation, making it one of volleyball's toughest venues for visiting teams. In 2007, Texas welcomed 37,524 fans into Gregory Gym, averaging 2,502 fans per contest, the highest per-game average in Gregory Gym history. That mark gave UT the ninth highest home attendance average in the nation and the second highest in the Big 12 Conference. The crowd of 4,286 that watched Texas sweep No. 1 Nebraska on Oct. 24, 2007 was the largest crowd ever in Gregory Gym s current configuration. Texas has an.829 winning percentage at Gregory Gym (228-47) and has pulled out at least 11 wins at home in each of the last six seasons under head coach Jerritt Elliott. Overall, the Longhorns are an impressive at home for a winning percentage of 80.2 percent since The state-of-the-art, 4,000-seat facility features a friendly, roomy environment for players, coaches and fans alike. Spacious locker rooms, offices, meeting rooms and a players lounge were constructed recently, joining other recent updates that include a new sound system. In the summer of 2003, a brand new playing surface was laid down for the Horns. Longhorns volleyball fans are treated to upper-level seating that puts them right on top of the action. Additionally, fans on the floor level are treated to seat-backs for more comfortable viewing Texas Volleyball The Horns have won 83 percent of their matches in the fan-friendly atmosphere of Gregory Gym. HOME SWEET HOME Success on their home court is nothing new for the Longhorns. Dating back to the 1974 season, Texas has won 80.2 percent of its matches in Austin, sporting an overall record of The Horns are even more successful in Gregory Gym, boasting a winning percentage of.829 (228-47). In you need any information about the Texas Volleyball program, please contact Assistant Media Relations Director Spencer Kitley at (512) or via at Media Information CREDENTIALS Media credentials and parking permits for UT volleyball matches can be obtained by contacting Spencer Kitley at (512) Credentials may be picked up in Bellmont Hall 327 on the day of the match. Credentials that are not picked up will be left at the player and media will call table at the entrance to Gregory Gym one hour before the time of the match. PARKING Gregory Gymnasium is located at the corner of Speedway and 21st St. The main entrance and media will call entrance is located at the Speedway entrance. Media parki ng is limited and will be issued on a per-match basis. PLEASE NOTE: The only entrance into Lot 115 (media parking) is at the end of Speedway just past Gregory Gym. PRESS SERVICES Three telephone lines and several high-speed Internet lines via wired and wireless are available on press row for each match. Radio lines will be installed only upon special request. RADIO LINES MUST BE REQUESTED AT LEAST TWO WEEKS PRIOR TO THE DESIRED MATCH OPPONENTS SID DIRECTORY INTERVIEWS All athlete and coach interviews must be arranged through the media relations office by calling or e- mailing Spencer Kitley AT LEAST 24 HOURS in advance. The Media Relations Office will arrange an interview time that is mutually convenient for both the player and the media representative. Players' home and cell phone numbers will not be given out. Rather, players will return telephone calls to members of the media. Generally, players are also available for interviews one-half hour before practice (typically between 1:00 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. daily) in Gregory Gym. Players will not be asked to miss class for an interview.
