3 Head Coach Allison Walker Allison Walker goes into her fifth season as the head volleyball coach at Stockton with an outstanding record that already has her on the verge of a milestone. Walker posted 99 victories In her first four years as a college head coach and could earn her 100th win as early as opening day of the 2010 season. In addition, Walker has won three NJAC championships, led the Ospreys to three NCAA Tournament berths and earned NJAC Coach of the Year honors twice. Last season, Walker led the Ospreys to a record and a second consecutive NJAC championship with sweeps of Ramapo and Montclair State in the league playoffs. Stockton went 29-9 in 2008, notching the most wins thus far under Walker s direction. The Ospreys rolled to a perfect 8-0 NJAC record in the regular season without losing a set. Victories over Rowan and Ramapo in the NJAC tournament gave Walker her second league title and sent Stockton back to the NCAA Tournament. She later was rewarded with the NJAC Coach of the Year honor. Walker took the reins of the Stockton program in 2006 and led the Ospreys to the NJAC championship and an automatic berth in the NCAA Tournament in her first season as a college coach. Stockton finished the successful campaign with a 26-9 record and Walker was named the NJAC Coach of the Year. In 2007, Stockton retooled with seven newcomers, including six freshmen, and went overall. The Ospreys also finished second in the NJAC with a 7-1 league record. Walker collected prior experience at the high school and club levels before coming to Stockton. She served as an assistant coach at Winslow Township High School in 2005 and also spent two seasons as an assistant at Hawthorne High School. In addition, Walker completed a three-year stint as a head coach for the Cut Shot Volleyball Club, a program that yielded Stockton career kills leader Whitney Verduin and distinguished Osprey alumna Amanda Burkart, Christine Aletras and Audrey O Donnell. In addition to her coaching background, Walker was an accomplished player on the NCAA Division III level at Muhlenberg College. A four-year letter winner for the Mules, she broke eight school records and finished her career with over 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs. Walker was an All-Centennial Conference First Team honoree in 1999 and an All-Centennial Conference Second Team selection in She also was recognized as a member of the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll in both years. Walker graduated from Muhlenberg in 2000 with a Bachelor of Arts degree and later earned a Master of Social Work diploma from Rutgers University. Langan graduated from Ramapo College, where he was a member of the basketball team. He is still active in USVBA club play on the regional and national level.

4 Assistant Coaches Greg Langan Greg Langan is in his 12th season as an assistant coach at Stockton. His ability to coach all aspects of volleyball continues to be a major factor in the success of the Stockton volleyball program. Langan graduated from Ramapo College, where he was a member of the basketball team. He is still active in USVBA club play on the regional and national level. Langan served on the Atlanta Olympics Volleyball Security Team in Langan lives with his wife Sandy and two daughters Emily and Becky in Millville, NJ. He is retired after a 28-year career with the New Jersey State Park Police, where he reached the rank of lieutenant. Phil Kening Phil Kening returns for his second season on the Stockton volleyball coaching staff. Kening also coaches the Stockton men s volleyball club team and acts as the volleyball director for the Galloway Township Police Athletic League, a position that he has held since In addition, he has coached with the East Coast Crush volleyball club since Kening, who possesses bachelor s and master s degrees from Southern Illinois University, serves as an adjunct professor for Business Studies at Stockton. He resides in Galloway with his wife Carrie and son Dave. 3 Stockton Volleyball

5 2010 Season Preview In 2010, the Stockton volleyball team will be trying to accomplish a feat that has rarely been achieved in NJAC history. The two-time defending league champions are seeking to become just the third program since conference play began in 1982 to win three consecutive NJAC titles. Head coach Allison Walker has seven returning letter winners, including four all-conference players, to lead the charge for the Ospreys. Six of the seven returnees have been a part of both recent league crowns. The Stockton lineup should be fortified by the addition of some talented newcomers as well. Junior outside hitter Christine Velott is the top offensive force for Stockton and a well-rounded player. Last year, Velott was voted to the NJAC First Team after leading the Ospreys in kills and ranking among the team leaders in aces and digs. Junior setter Laura Hausman expertly directs the Stockton attack with both her ball-handling and her knowledge of the game. Hausman, a 2009 NJAC Second Team selection, led the Ospreys in assists and also provided points with the second-best ace total on the team last season. Freshman Mayan Alvarado will back up Hausman and see action in Stockton s 6-2 alignment. Junior Cynthia Twarowski also is a newcomer to the team at setter. Stockton has the ability to dominate at the net with a pair of strong middle hitters in sophomore Stephanie Warner and junior Tabitha Nejman. Warner is coming off an outstanding freshman season in which led the team in aces and finished second in kills and blocks on the way to NJAC First Team honors. Nejman excels defensively, leading the team in blocks last year, and her offensive game continues to improve as well. Kasey Hennecke and Nicole Serekian are a pair of freshmen who should contribute right away in the front row. Hennecke is a smart outside hitter with good ball control while Serekian is an athletic player and powerful hitter on the right side. Freshman Alex Galdi also will compete for playing time on the right side. The Ospreys boast a trio of experienced veterans who play the back row, led by senior libero Christine Astarita, a 2009 NJAC Honorable Mention selection who paces the Stockton defense with her digging and passing skills. She led the team in digs last year and also chipped in offensively with the third-most aces by an Osprey. Astarita and defensive specialist Allison Kleeman are the only seniors on the roster. Kleeman has been a reliable defensive player throughout her career, and she finished second on the team in digs a year ago. Junior defensive specialist Nicole Ober is expected to see more playing time, further strengthening Stockton s defense and serve reception. Sophomore transfer Cindy Loaiza gives Stockton added depth in the back row. 4 Stockton Volleyball
