The Vice-President assists the President and other CADA officers in the performance of their duties as necessary, and assumes the President s responsibilities in his/her absence. The Assistant Vice-President Tournaments and Events is responsible for the efficient functioning of all CADA sanctioned tournaments, ADO Qualifiers, the CADA traveling team, and other special events. The Assistant Vice-President Monsters of the Midlands Pub League serves as Commissioner for the Tuesday night dart league and in conjunction with the CADA Board of Directors (see section 3.3) is responsible for effective and efficient management of all issues and requirements associated with the league. The ADO Representative is responsible for all interactions with the ADO Regional and National Offices, reporting results of ADO sanctioned events sponsored by CADA, and communication of ADO rules and requirements to the CADA membership. The Sergeant-at-Arms is responsible for ensuring that all CADA rules and requirements are enforced. This includes ensuring that all venues have appropriate lighting, board quality, and proper oche and board measurements. 3 A meeting for nominations and elections will be held each January. Nominations for office may be made by any CADA member in good standing. An individual (other than the President and Vice-President) may hold more than one elected office. An officer may be removed from office for misconduct or incompetence by a 2/3 majority vote of CADA membership. The President may designate a CADA member to complete the term of office of the officer who has been removed. 5.1 Rules for Monsters of the Midlands Pub League (MOM) The MOM will play at designated venues on Tuesday nights beginning at 7:00 p.m. A minimum of two lighted dart boards in good condition will be required at each venue. ADO rules will govern the conduct of league play. 5.2 Format for League matches League matches will consist of the following: Two sets best of 3 leg SINGLES Cricket Two sets best of 3 leg DOUBLES Cricket Two sets best of 3 leg SINGLES 501 (single in double out) Two sets best of 3 leg DOUBLES 501 (single in double out) Two sets best of 3 leg SINGLES 501/Cricket/Choice Two sets best of 3 leg DOUBLES 501/Cricket/Choice One Team Game 701 (single in double out) In the choice matches, the winner of the diddle (cork) can opt to either choose the game to be played or to throw first in the game his/her opponent selects. Example: Player 1 wins diddle, selects Cricket, Player 2 throws first in the Cricket leg. 5.3 Points awarded for League matches At total of 19 league points will be awarded for each match as follows: 1 point for each winner of singles matches (total 6 points) 3
2 points for each winning team in doubles (total 12 points) 1 point for winning team game 5.4 Player requirements Each team participating in MOM League play must have a roster of at least 4 players. There is no limit on the maximum number of players on the roster. A minimum of two players must be available to begin the match. At the time the first doubles set is played, a team with less than 4 players will be required to play with a ghost. A ghost player scores zero each time he is designated to throw. Example: A team with 3 players would play two players in one set of doubles, and one player and a ghost in the other set of doubles. A team with only 2 players could opt to play both players in one doubles set and take a zero in the other set, or they could play one player and a ghost in both sets. No player may play in more than one match of each sets. For example, a player can play in singles cricket, singles 501 and singles mix, but cannot play both matches of singles cricket. Same rule applies in doubles. The team game requires at least 4 players. Teams playing with fewer than four will be required to throw with a ghost. 5.5 League Fees Each player participating in the MOM pub league will required to pay an annual five dollar CADA membership fee. Membership is valid from January through December. [Note: For the first season, this fee will be waived]. This money is used to pay ADO membership dues and to support the promotion of darts and special events in the Columbia area. Each pub participating in the MOM will be assessed a $25.00 sponsorship fee per season. Either the pub or the team must pay this fee prior to (or at) the first scheduled match. All money collected from sponsorship dues will be utilized solely for the benefit of participants of the MOM league. Members will be given the opportunity to vote on how these funds should be allocated (trophies, awards, cash payouts, end of season tournament, etc.). 4
5.6 Scoresheets Official MOM scoresheets will be provided to each pub participating in the league. Each team Captain will complete his/her individual scoresheet prior to each scheduled set and exchange with the opposing team Captain. For example, both team will complete the section for Cricket singles, and exchange names on both scoresheets. Then prior to Cricket doubles the Captains will list their players and exchange scoresheets/names. This same procedure is followed until the conclusion of the match. Following the match, the home and visiting Captains will compare scoresheets to ensure both are accurate, then initial. The home team Captain will be responsible for ing the completed scoresheet to This can be done either by scanning the scoresheet or taking a legible photograph and attaching it to the Team Rosters Prior to the beginning of the season, each participating team must submit a roster their team s players. The roster must include a team Captain and a Co-Captain with an address and phone number. First and last names of all other players on the roster are also required. Individuals who have not played for another league team during the current season can be added to the roster at anytime. Players who desire to change teams during the season may do so with the approval of the losing and gaining team Captains. First and last names of added players should be ed to columbiaareadarts@gmail.com after the first match in which they participate. 5.8 Scheduling, postponements, and forfeits A league schedule will be provided to all participating teams prior to the beginning of the season. Teams are expected to arrive at the scheduled location in time to begin play promptly at 7:00 p.m. If a team (at least 2 players) has not arrived by 7:30, the opposing Captain may declare a forfeit. In the event it is necessary to reschedule a match, the team requiring the reschedule must notify the opposing team at least 24 hours in advance. An to columbiaareadarts@gmail.com should be provided confirming that the request to reschedule has been made. A mutually agreed upon time and date for the rescheduled match should be established as soon as possible. It is the responsibility of the postponing team to complete the rescheduled match prior to the end of the season. Failure to make up the match will result in a forfeit for the team who requested the postponement. 5
Since a match can technically be played with only two players (and two ghost players) forfeits should be extremely rare. In the event a team does forfeit, they will be assessed a 0-19 loss in the standings. 5.9 Guidelines on start of play The visiting team has the option to either see the diddle (cork) or show a diddle. The dart closes to bull goes first. If both darts hit a single bull, both darts are pulled from the board and the player who last threw throws again. If a double bull is thrown, the opposing player may ask that the dart be pulled prior to his/her diddle. After the first leg, the loser of the leg has the option to see or show. The same order applies to each set throughout the match. [Note: As explained in rule 5.2, in the third leg of the Choice matches the winner of the diddle has the option to either choose the game (501 or Cricket) or throw first after the opponent chooses the game.] Prior to the first leg in any set, a player is allotted a maximum of nine warm-up darts. 6.0 Rules for the Columbia Singles League (CSL) The CSL currently plays each Sunday afternoon at Kwagga Sports Pub in Northeast Columbia. Other venues may be added in the future as participation dictates. Standard ADO rules govern match play. 6.1 Format One scheduled singles match each week consisting of 15 legs (5 legs 501 SIDO, 5 legs Cricket, 5 legs 301 DIDO) A total of nineteen league points will be awarded for each match as follows: One league point will be awarded for each leg won in match play. One league point will be awarded to the winner of each series set (501/Cricket/301) One league point will be awarded to the winner of the most legs in each match (example: Player A wins the 501 set 3-2; Player B wins Cricket set 5-0, Player A wins 301 set 4-1. Player A receives 7 league points for legs won and 2 league points for winning two series 6
sets. Player B receives 8 league points for legs won, 1 league point for winning a series set, and one league point for winning the overall match) Additional league points will be awarded based on accumulation of marks as follows: Tons (100 or more scored in 01) actual score of ton mark points 5 mark 100 mark points 6 mark 120 mark points 7 mark 140 mark points 8 mark 160 mark points 9 mark 180 mark points 3 bulls (2 or 3 darts) 100 mark points 4 bulls (2 or 3 darts) 125 mark points 5 bulls 150 mark points 6 bulls 180 mark points For each 1000 mark points a player accumulates 1 league point will be added to the individual standings Each leg will begin with a diddle (cork) to determine who throws first. A coin flip will determine the option of corking the first leg of each set. The loser of the preceding leg will have the option in the following leg. 6.2 Fees All participants in the CSL must pay a five dollar annual CADA membership fee. Membership is valid from January through December. This money is used to pay ADO membership dues and to support the promotion of darts and special events in the Columbia area. Each CSL player will pay a $20.00 participant fee per season. These funds will be used to pay for trophies, awards, and cash prizes. The top six finishers (3 from each half of the season) will participate in an end of the season round robin format tournament. The top two finishers in that event will receive cash awards from remaining funds (70% to first place, 30% to second). Signups for the next season of the CSL will occur in January
7.0 Other tournaments and events CADA currently sanctions two blind draw type tournaments. CADA also periodically hosts qualifying events to win paid entry to ADO sanctioned Regional Qualifiers. CADA will host a Cricket qualifier for the ADO Regional in Savannah, GA on December 6 at a date to be determined. 7.1 Pointless Dart League Play starts at 7:30 every Wednesday at Kwagga Sports Bar and Restaurant. It s basically a no money blind draw, but we keep stats and call it a league. Everyone is welcome to join and those interested in darts but not ready to jump feet first into competitive play are strongly encouraged to come out. CADA membership is NOT required. The Pointless Dart League is a great place for beginners to begin and a place for players to play.this is an excellent venue to hone your skills while preparing for higher levels of competition in a completely pressure-free environment. There is never any obligation to play (meaning if you join you don t have to show up every or any week you don t want to) and you re a member the first time you throw with us. 7.2 Thursday darts at State Street Pub State Street Pub is West Columbia hosts a money blind draw tourney on Thursday night. Signups at 7:00 and the draw begins at 7:30. $5.00 entry fee. Bar contributes to the pot with 10 or more players. 100% payout to winners. Format is best of 3 (501/Cricket/Choice), double elimination. Everyone is welcome to come out and play, CADA membership is NOT required. 8
