No timeouts are allowed in the last minute of the game. The clock doesn t stop for time-outs. If the temperature is over 30 degrees, there must be a time-out taken by the 10 minute mark of the first and second half. Is the referee calls this then the time-outs will be reduced to 30 seconds for that half for each team, to ensure no more than 2 minutes per half is allocated to time-outs. All scoresheets to be handed to the Youth Leader at the completion of each game and passed on to me for collating daily. Referees A Referee will be assigned to each game. As there will be no numbers on the tops, players will be asked to raise their hand after a foul is committed to mark the foul accordingly in the manual scoresheet. If any player is disrespectful to any Ref or opposition players, the Ref will be instructed to report him/her to myself and this player will be counselled and the issue addressed. No tackling from behind or dangerous slide tackling is allowed. Unlimited flying substitutions. Players can re-enter the game as many times without notifying the referee, this also includes the goalkeeper (games will not be stopped for substitutions). Substitutions must be made in the substitution area. A substitute player can only enter after the player they are substituting is off the court. There is NO offside in Futsal, and players can score from anywhere in the court of play. When the ball goes out over the sideline, it is then placed on the sideline; it must be stationary and kicked into the court to another player. All opposing players must be at least 3 metres from the ball, the foot not kicking the ball must be OUT of the court or part of the foot touching the side line. A goal cannot be scored directly from a sideling KICK-IN, but you can from a corner KICK-IN. The goalkeeper cannot throw the ball over the 1/2 way line on a small court. If the Goalkeeper uses their hands to handle the ball, they must throw the ball back into play, however if the goalkeeper does not handle the ball with their hands, they are free to kick the ball any length and even score. The Goalkeeper is not allowed to drop-kick the ball at any time. The goalkeeper has 5 seconds time limit to control the ball and release it from their possession in their own half of the pitch. Goalkeepers are not allowed to pick up the ball with their hands from a deliberate back pass from any of their team mates. The game has a 5 second time limit at all kick-ins, corner kicks and free kicks. 5 Soccer: Teams Teams are divided in male and female, as well as age group (either year 6 and 7, or year 8 and 9) Each team will be allowed 8 players on the field at each time (including the goalkeeper) Substitutions can be made throughout the game when there is a stoppage in play and the referee is notified, unless it is in the final 2 minutes of the match in which no substitutions can be made (unless for an injury). Changing goalkeepers must adhere to the same substitution rule as above. Kick Off The match will start with a team passing the ball to a teammate at the half way line The other team will not be allowed to be within 3 metres of the team kicking off until the ball has been touched (as judged by the referee). Upon a goal being scored, the opposition team will then kick off. Rules Normal FIFA based rules will be used to adjudicate fouls, goals and other match play rules, unless otherwise stated below. A throw in will be taken to resume play if the ball leaves the field of play on the sideline. These throw ins will adhere to normal FIFA throw in rules If the ball goes behind the goals, it will result in o A goal kick if the last touch comes from the attacking team, which will be taken 3 metres from the base line o A corner if the last touch comes from a defender, which will be taken at the nearest corner to where the ball left the field of play. No one from the defending team is allowed to be within 2 metres of the corner kick taker. Penalties will only be awarded for fouls considered by the referee to be preventing a clear goal scoring opportunity within a reasonably close proximity to the goals. (if there is ample penalty box markings, normal penalty rules will apply). Penalties are to be taken from 6 meters away from goal as counted by the referee (unless there is a defined penalty mark). If a player receives a red card, they will have to leave the field and will miss the next match. The player may be replaced by another player for the rest of the match. No offsides will be played, however the ref can ask goal tenders to move away. Footwear and Equipment No boots are allowed. Runners are to be worn. All players must wear reasonable sized shin guards during game play. Duration Match times will vary based on the age/sex group playing in that session. This is based on field availability and number of teams. Matches will have a half time break appropriate to their match duration. Full Time Winners will be awarded 3 points If the scores are tied at full time during league matches, each team will be awarded 1 point If the scores are even at the end of a finals match, the match will either enter into a golden goal scenario, unless time restrictions permit a penalty shootout. 5

6 Table tennis: Match is played best 5 games (hence first to 3) First player to reach 11 points wins that game, however a game must be won by at least a two point margin. A point is scored after each ball is put into play (not just when the server wins the point as in volleyball). The edges of the table are part of the legal table surface, but not the sides. Flow of the Match Each player serves two points in a row and then switch server. However, if a score of is reached in any game, then each server serves only one point and then the server is switched. After each game, the players switch side of the table. In the final game (ie 5th game), the players switch side again after either player reaches 5 points. Tennis: Fast 4 format: 1. It s the first to 3 sets (1 set = 4 games & 1 game=first to 4 points) 2. There are no lets (ball remains in play) 3. There is no deuce and therefore no ad scoring Touch footy: Touch Rugby or TOUCH, as it is known, is a minimal contact sport that is played worldwide by men, women and children of all ages. The game emphasizes running, agility and ball handling skills such as passing and catching. Looking something similar to Rugby, without the tackling, scrumming, kicking and the like, the aim of the game is to score tries. Played on a flat surface, half the size of a conventional sports field. Rules 1-Touch, where the attacking team is allowed possession to score before handing the ball over. Kick off The game starts with one team kicking to the opposition team. This is at the half way mark of the field. The team waiting to receive the ball from the kick off must be at least 10 metres from the opposition. The team which scores a try always kicks off to the opposition. Possession A team normally retains possession for 1 - Touch. Possession transfers to the opposing team: after a Touch. A touch can be on any part of the body and cannot be forceful. The faintest of touch is deemed as a touch. Every team member needs to be honest if they have touched a player before they have released the ball. after a try; 6

7 from an intercept; from a dropped ball or other failure to maintain possession; whenever the referee indicates a turnover. Defending From the kick off, the defending team must be at least 10 meters from the opposition. After making a touch, the defending team must retreat five meters from the mark where the touch occurred and stay there until the play begins. If any players do not retreat the entire five meters, or they leave before the attacking team has passed the ball, they will be penalized. If a penalty is conceded, the defending team must retreat at least 5 meters from the mark of the penalty. If a player makes an attempt to defend whilst still inside the 5 meters, they will be penalised. Scoring A try is awarded when an attacking player places the ball on or over the opposition's try line. The aim is to score more tries than the opposing team. A try is worth one point and scored by placing the ball in the opponent's in-goal area. There are no other methods of scoring. If you are over the try line and drop the ball instead of touching the ball on the ground it is counted as a drop ball and it is turned over and this means the opposition is awarded the ball. The Penalty A penalty is granted to the non-offending team if: the ball is passed forward or if the ball is dropped. Game resumes where the ball has landed. a "touch and pass" is committed (a pass after being touched) an obstruction is committed. a player is offside. a player acts contrary to the rules or spirit of the sport (eg time-wasting, using excessive force to make a touch, phantom touch (calling a touch when they clearly didn't make one), disputing decisions, etc). Mode of play The ball can be passed or knocked (but not kicked) sideways (flat) or backwards between team mates who attempt to evade opposition defenders and score tries. Footwear Players must wear soft rubber cleated shoes, similar to those used in other grass sports such as cricket and field hockey. Screw-in cleats are strictly prohibited, though moulded-sole football boots may be worn. Teams The teams can be male, female or mixed. Each team can consist of up to 14 players, of which 6 players can be on the field at any one time. Mixed teams typically comprise 3 females and 3 males on the field at one time. There is no limit to the number of substitutions a player or team can make. Substitutions may be made at any time provided the players are in the designated substitution box. Play is continuous and does not stop for substitutions. Duration Two x 10 minute halves with a 3 minute halftime, though other time frames are often used to suit local conditions and competitions. Full Time Should the scores be tied at full time there will be a break for two (2) minutes and then will play to sudden death. The first team to score will be declared the winners. 7

8 Volleyball: 6 players on the court for each team at any time (with up to 3 reserves if necessary) Players will rotate around the court after each point won Standard Volleyball Rules will apply; o Serving can either be underarm or overarm but no throwing of the ball o Players will be allowed three hits to return the ball back over the net. o If the ball bounces within the opponents side of the court a point will be won o If a team hits the ball more than three times without returning it over the net, a point will be won by the opposition o If players deliberately hit the net or pull the net down a point will be won by the opposition team. o A point will be won irrespective of who serves the ball o Games will be played as the best of three sets with the winner being the first to 15 points, irrespective of the margin (eg wins the set). o If the games are 1-1 then the third set will be the first to 15 points with a margin of 2 to decide the winner Depending on the number of teams for each age group the tournament will be played as a round robin with 2 points for a win. If there is a tie between teams during the round robin a final single set will be played between the tied teams with the winner being the first to 15 separated by 2 points. There will be no formal referees, managers and support staff and reserves will help with scoring and results after each game will be provided to the Volleyball Convenor to tally up and maintain the leader board for each age group At the discretion of the volleyball convenor, he / she may decide to modify the rules for a particular game if the players are struggling with the rules. This is targeted at the youngest group of players. Modifications may include; o Using a softer large ball o Converting the rules into Captain Ball which allows for throwing and catching without the ball bouncing on the court o Allowing a team to have one bounce before returning the ball over the net 8
