BGC MINUTES START OF UNAPPROVED MINUTES for the 5/20/13 Meeting: Meeting convened at 7:00 PM at the BGC Clubhouse. Board Members Present: Wayne Aycock, Jim Caison, Ray Campbell, Mike English, Dave Ernst, Jeff Fountain, Tami Hahn, Sholar Powell. 3 members were present. The April Minutes and May Treasurers report were approved. NEW BUSINESS: Volunteering for benefit shoots - In the past the Club awarded workdays for members that worked at the benefit shoots (Boy Scout and Hospice), in the future that will no longer be the case, since it could potentially create a paid status /employment liability if there were ever legal concerns at one of these events.. The main purpose of these events is to raise funds for the sponsored organization, so members should volunteer their time to help out. Hunter Safety Course - Dave Miller will hold a Hunter Safety Certification course at the Club later this summer. OLD BUSINESS Range building-new 50 yard range shelter is now complete and has been getting rave reviews by shooters. Lights and fans are still to be added. Jeff Fountain noted he christened it by winning the first official match there this past week with 20 X s! Members please note that even though it is an outstanding new place for rimfire rifle shooting, it in fact remains a MULTIPURPOSE area and all types of firearms are welcome to use it (please park on the gravel area). Cowboy funding request-jeff Holland and the Cowboy shooters made a request for funds to re-build the cowboy storage building and obtain new targets, software, drop a well, plant grass, etc. Ray discussed these proposals with contractor and was told it was not economically sound to try to rebuild the structure at this time ( it s a tear down ). After discussion, board voted to give them $500 towards props and $1984 for targets (total $2484.00) at this time. Skeet/Trap/5 stand requests-skeet/5 stand has been seeing a growing usage and requested 2 new AT 250 machines and a wobble set-up totaling $4470 in cost. Board approved. Trap shooter Eric Leo presented proposal for a Canterbury voice-release system for trap stations with a total cost of $1787.00. Board approved. Meeting adjourned at 8:20 PM. END OF UNAPPROVED MINUTES for the 5/20/2013 Meeting. MAY MONTHLY SKEET SHOOT SCORES The May 12th Skeet Match fell on Mother s Day, had 10 Shooters and had a great day! The John Scott Youth Shooting Group cooked on the grill & will continue to do at our monthly Skeet & Trap matches. Youth shooter Chase Rouse took High Score with a 48/50. MAY NRA ACTION PISTOL MATCH (Sholar Powell): Had another great turn-out for the May AP match, with thirteen shooters showing up. Good day to shoot considering it was late May, and Memorial Day weekend to boot. Cool temperatures and overcast sky made it a pleasant match the dog days of summer are coming. Had our first shooter in a long time shooting the.22lr rimfire course of fire. Hope to see more of this category of entry in the future. And we had some new shooters as well, and hope to see them again at future matches. Looks like the work is complete on the Barricade Range, with a new bench-rest rifle shed installed. This is a great adder to make the Barricade Range a multi-use range, open to all types of pistol and rifle shooting, both from the new firing line as well as the interior of the bay. Come on out and shoot the AP match in June, 4 th Sunday. Scores for this match as follows: FALLING PLATE MATCH Semi-Auto Expert Don Pelling 390/39x Marksman Bryan Shelton 370/37x Brad Kohr 260/26x Defensive Pistol Wilt Deets 360/36x Wilt Deets 290/29x David Isley 280/28x Lon Layton 240/24x Iain Narra 190/19x Scott White 190/19x Mack Smith, Jr. 160/16x Iain Narra 150/15x Frankie Pridgen 110/11x Mary Anne Peters 60/6x.22 Rimfire Marksman David Bannister 350/35x MOVING TARGET MATCH Semi-Auto Expert Don Pelling 405/5x Marksman William Benbow 378/6x Bryan Shelton 356/4x Brad Kohr 353/6x Defensive Pistol Wilt Deets 420/13x Wilt Deets 394/8x Lon Layton 392/5x William Benbow 390/4x Iain Narra 358/7x David Isley 319/3x Iain Narra 302/5x Mack Smith, Jr. 295/5x Scott White 262/5x Mary Anne Peters 129/1x.22 Rimfire Marksman David Bannister 374/7x BUCCANEER SPURS At Saturdays' Memorial Day match the weather warmed up and the shooting got hot.
