RF Wil Myers tied his career high in hits last night, going 4-for-6 with two doubles...he, along with PH Matt Szczur and CF Franchy Cordero logged two hits apiece in the seventh inning, making it the fourth time in Padres franchise history that three players have recorded multiple hits in a single inning (last: May 11, 2011 at MIL). Starter Bryan Mitchell worked 5.1 innings and allowed a career-high-tying five runs, eight hits, two walks and two strikeouts. AND THE HITS KEPT COMING: The nine runs and eight hits in the top of the seventh last night were the most the Padres have had in a single inning since also having nine runs and eight hits on July 24, 2014 at CHC in the top of the sixth. IT'S LAUER HOUR: Tonight, LHP Eric Lauer becomes just the second pitcher of the entire 2016 draft class to make their ML debut, trailing only fellow lefty teammate Joey Lucchesi, who made his with his start on March 30,2017 vs. MIL.
