Organization of ESAR BSA affiliation PCESAR is a member of WESAR -Washington Explorer Search and Rescue. PCESAR is also a member of the Pierce County Search & Rescue Council ESAR members are required to apply for membership to Pierce County Department of Emergency Management.

To Become A Certified Brushmonkey Join Pierce County ESAR Complete 3 FEMA NIMS courses Pass DEM background check Complete Course 1-4 (in order) plus SAR Oriented First Aid Have a current First Aid Card From any certified agency (i.e. Red Cross, American Heart Assoc.) OR ESAR Class - dates TBD (probably Feb. or March)

Course Three Wilderness Navigation Teams of two trainees NO Team Leader Applying wilderness and navigation skills Orienteering course Endurance Teamwork and problem solving
