TYSON'S TURN: Earlier this season on 4/20 here at Chase Field, RHP Tyson Ross took a no-hitter into the eighth inning behind a career-high 127 pitches, which is tied for the most a pitcher has thrown in a single game this season (also, CLE's Trevor Bauer, 5/27 vs. HOU)...it was the 21st time a Padre took a no-hitter into the eighth inning and ended up as the 29th one-hitter in franchise history. Ross' 2.52 ERA against the Diamondbacks is his lowest against any club (min. eight starts) and his 14 appearances and 13 starts against Arizona are the most he's made against any opponent. BY THE NUMBERS: San Diego had a 1-0 lead entering the sixth frame last night before the Diamondbacks scored a pair to take the 2-0 lead...the Padres are now 5-43 when trailing after the sixth inning, 17-19 in one or two run games, 15-22 against the NL West and 11-29 when they hit no home runs. SNAKE CHARMER: OF Wil Myers is a career.319 hitter against the Diamondbacks...his 68 hits, 44 runs scored and 17 doubles are the secondmost against any club, trailing only the Rockies in those categories...is a career.328 hitter here at Chase Field and his.406 OBP is his highest against any NL club (.429 OBP vs. SEA). PUT IT ON THE 'PEN: The Padres bullpen has worked 330.0 innings this year and have fanned 350 batters, which both rank fourth in the majors. The Padres have a 76.5 save percentage this season, also ranking fourth in the majors and second in the NL, trailing only the Nationals' 77.1 percentage. HOMERS MATTER: Since the beginning of June, the Padres have averaged 0.60 home runs per game (third-lowest in the NL) and have scored 3.50 runs per game (second-lowest in the NL)...the Diamondbacks' 0.50 HR/G since 6/1 are tied for the lowest in the NL and their 3.83 R/G are the third-lowest in the NL. A GREAT DAY TO BE A FRIAR: Join us in wishing a very happy birthday to our manager Andy Green and third base coach Glenn Hoffman...and while we're at it, how about a birthday shoutout to Diamondbacks pre and postgame radio host Mike Ferrin. ROSTER MOVES: The Padres have recalled RHP Kazuhisa Makita from triple-a El Paso and placed LHP Jose Castillo on the 10-day DL (retro 7/6) with a right hamstring strain. Padres at a glance...
