WHAT A RELIEF: In their last six games, the Padres' bullpen owns 1.85 ERA (5 ER, 24.1 IP), which is the best in the NL over that span...the pen has fanned 23 batters, and opposing bats are only.174 against Padres relief arms in that time. RHP Christian Bethancourt (getting a spot start after scheduled starter Kyle Lloyd was recalled by the Padres to start against the Mets) homered in the bottom of the third after giving up a decisive two-run homer in the top of the inning...the converted catcher allowed two runs on three hits and a walk with four strikeouts in 3.0 innings of work.
