DATE AND PLACE OF COMPETITION The Volleyball competition of the XXIII Central American and Caribbean Games Barranquilla 2018 will take place from Saturday July 28 to Wednesday August 1, at the Puerto Colombia beaches. EVENTS AND MEDALS The events announced for the competition at the XXIII Central American and Caribbean Games, Barranquilla 2018 are: EVENTS MEDALS GOLD SILVER BRONZE WOMEN S TEAM 1 1 1 MEN S TEAM 1 1 1 TOTAL MEDALS VOLLEYBALL 2 2 2 11 COMPETITION SYSTEM Female and male competitions will have 23 teams, competing in a round robin system, quarter finals, semifinals and final. The 24 teams will be arranged: Colombia, as the host country is automatically classified. A team per category. The 22 best teams classified by NORCECA until december 31 2017, according to their Voleyball Beach continental circuit participation. Colombia and Venezuela classify in each category; therefore, as part of the South American Confederation, both countries classify directly. For this reason, Colombia and Venezuela are not in the NORCECA ranking. NORCECA ranking points will be used to distribute the teams into groups.

COMPETITIONS SCHEDULE TECHNICAL MEETING The Technical Meeting for Women s will take place on July 27 at the Puerta de Oro Center, room 3 in the city of Barranquilla at 2:00 P.M Up to two representatives from each NOC will be able to attend this Technical Meeting. The invitation card for the Technical Meeting will be available for the Heads of Team at the Sports Information Center of the Central American and Caribbean Village, upon their arrival. The Technical Delegate and the COBAR s Competition Manager for Volleyball will preside the meeting, which shall take place in Spanish with translation into English. MAXIMUM NUMBER OF COMPETITORS According to the CACSO established quota, the Volleyball competition will have a maximum of ninety six (96) athletes. There will be 24 teams in the women s division, and 24 teams in the men s division. Each with the maximum of two athletes per team, for a total of ninety six (96) athletes. 13 Each NOC may enter a maximum of one (1) team per gender, as long as they comply with the qualification criteria set by NORCECA for the XXIII Central American and Caribbean Games, Barranquilla, 2018. TECHNICAL OFFICIALS The designation of the Control Committee and/or Technical Personnel, such as Competitions Manager and Referees, is designated by the president of NORCECA. PROTESTS AND APPEALS According to the Official regulation of the FIVB and to the regulations that will be issued for this event NORCECA
SPORT EQUIPMENT The official ball- MOLTEN Reference BV5000 MEDAL CEREMONIES Medal ceremonies will take place accoring to CACSO s General Regulations, Chapter XIII. First Place: A diploma for the team and a gold medal and a diploma for each athlete. Second Place: A diploma for the team and a silver medal and a diploma for each athlete. Third Place: A diploma for the team and a bronze medal and a diploma for each athlete. COMPETITION VENUE 14 The Volleyball competition will take place at the Puerto Colombia Beach. MINIMUM PARTICIPATION For an event to be considered official at least five (5) representations must participate from the same number of National Olympic Committees. In the event one or more representations, after the Technical Meeting takes place, may not participate due to force majeure (verified by CACSO) the event will be carried out with a minimum of four (4) representations of the same number of National Olympic Committees. GENERAL RULES The competitions of the XXIII Central American and Caribbean Games Barranquilla 2018 will be carried out according to CACSO s Statute and the corresponding International Federation Regulation in force during the Games. The cases not foreseen in the above-mentioned regulations will be solved as follows: General nature cases will be solved according to CACSO s Statute and according to the Central American and Caribbean Games Regulation. Technical nature cases will be solved according to the procedures
of the Pan American Confederation or a Continental Organization. UNIFORMS AND SPORT EQUIPMENT The Central American and Caribbean Games Regulation and the corresponding International Federation regulations must be followed as well as Rule 51 of the IOC, as per the rules established for NOCs in the Guidelines for the Use of Manufacturers Trademarks. TRAINING FACILITIES Access will be allowed only to accredited team members. There is no public access allowed. Equipment shall follow the requirements of the corresponding International Federation. DOPING CONTROL Doping control will be done according to CACSO s Medical Commission requirements, according to the corresponding International Federation Regulation and will follow the 2018 version of standards of the World Anti Doping Agency procedures (WADA). 15
