2. Executive summary 2.1 Key findings A high level f teacher cllabratin exists acrss the schl. Staff members are supprted t cllabrate in teams thrugh a range f strategies including; the prvisin f additinal release time, the develpment f a shared staffrm, Prfessinal Learning Cmmunities (PLC) and cmmittee and meeting structures. The schl leadership team has develped a culture f feedback and bservatin as a key strategy t imprve pedaggical practice. Teachers welcme pprtunities fr schl leaders and clleagues t bserve and discuss their wrk. All teachers engage in at least ne bservatin and feedback pprtunity each term. Self-reflectin is encuraged and explicit feedback is prvided by the schl leadership team. Curriculum is used as a basis fr nging staff discussins regarding ptimal ways t maximize student learning utcmes, particularly in the areas f literacy and numeracy. An extensive set f curriculum dcuments designed t ffer teachers a range f frames with which t plan fr their students is develped. There is a strng emphasis n designing learning experiences that are accessible and apprpriately challenging fr all students. Teachers wrk and learn in teams Teachers prefer t remain fcused n classrm teaching. Teaching staff are reluctant t accept r nminate fr frmal leadership pprtunities and psitins. Staff members, parents and cmmunity members cnsistently cmmend the wrk f the schl leadership team. The schl leadership team has undergne recent changes. Staff members are psitive in regards t the new structure. There is sme uncertainty regarding specific rles and respnsibilities fr the imprvement agenda. Parents appreciate the leadership team s fcus n individual student needs. The schl makes an effrt t utilise a range f data sets t mnitr prgress twards achieving the imprvement agenda. The schl leadership team places a high pririty n the schl-wide use and analysis f data t measure and track student learning and infrm teacher decisin making. The schl is yet t identify and implement data gathering instruments fr student wellbeing and attendance.
