ROAD TRIP RECAP: The Red Sox lost to the Rangers on Sunday, 4-3, in walk-off fashion at Globe Life Park...It concluded a 1-6 road trip through Minnesota (0-3) and Texas (1-3) in which Boston was outscored Of the 6 losses, 3 were by 2 runs or less, including a pair of 1-run losses. STATE OF THE SOX: This is the 14th day in a season-long stretch of 20 consecutive days with a game scheduled from 5/19-6/7 (4-9 thus far). Masterson is slated to continue his rehab with a start in Double-A Portland s game on Friday night s home game against Bowie (BAL) beginning at 7:00 p.m. LAYNE S GAMES: Tommy Layne retired his first batter faced Sunday in Texas, getting Shin-Soo Chu to ground out and strand a runner at 2nd base...he has now stranded his last 8 inherited runners and his 90.9% strand rate (10 of 11) ranks T-6th in AL.
