4 Prevention: Thunder/Lightning If you hear thunder, immediatey suspend your event and instruct everyone to get to a safe pace. If you hear it.cear it! After each incidence of thunder or ightning, there is a mandatory deay of 30 minutes before pay can start or resume. If any thunder or ightning is present during the interva, the 30 minute wait time is reset at that occurrence.

No exceptions. A payers are encouraged to wear cups, it is mandatory for catchers. Prior to practice and games, manager shoud direct their payers to stretch and warm up. Stretching/warm up can hep cut down many types of injuries

25 Concussion Awareness The payer shoud not be aowed to return to pay in the current game or practice. The payer shoud not be eft aone; and reguar monitoring for deterioration is essentia over the initia few hours foowing injury. The payer shoud be medicay evauated foowing the injury. Return to pay must foow a medicay supervised stepwise process. A payer shoud never return to pay whie symptomatic. When in doubt, sit them out!

34 Code of Conduct Cont. Appear on the fied of pay, stands, or anywhere in the vicinity of the fied in an intoxicated state at any time, intoxicated wi be defined as an odor or behavior issue. Be guity of gambing upon any pay or outcome of any game with anyone at any time. Smoke whie in the stands or on the paying fied or in any dugout at any time. Speak disrespectfuy to any manager, coach, officia, or representative of the eague. Chaenge an umpire s authority. The umpires sha have the authority and discretion during a game to penaize the offender according to the infraction up to and incuding expusion from the game.
35 PLL Safety Code The Board of Directors of the PLL has mandated the foowing safety code. A managers and coaches wi read this safety code and then read it to the payers on their team. Responsibiity for safety procedures beong to every adut member of the Ponderosa Litte League. Each payer, manager, coach, and umpire sha use proper reasoning and care to prevent injury to him/hersef and to others. Ony eague approved managers and coaches are aowed to practice payers. One eague approved managers and coaches sha supervise batting cages. Managers and coaches wi have mandatory training in first aid. No games or practices wi be hed when weather or fied conditions are poor or when ighting is inadequate.
36 PLL Safety Code Cont. Pay area wi be inspected before games and practices for safety concerns incuding hoes, damage, gass, etc. and any safety issues wi be rectified before the start of the practice or game. A team equipment wi be stored inside the dugout during games. Ony payers, managers, coaches, and umpires are permitted on the paying fied or in the dugouts during games and practices. During practices and games, a payers shoud be aert and watching the batter on each pitch. A pre-game warm-ups shoud be performed within the confines of the fied and not in areas that are frequented by spectators (paying catch, etc.) Equipment wi be reguary inspected for damage and safety concerns. Batters, base runners, and payer base coaches must wear itte eague approved hemets that bear the NOCSAE sea during batting practice and games.
37 PLL Safety Code Cont. Head first sides are not permitted uness returning to a previousy occupied base. At no time, wi horsepay be permitted on the fied. On-deck batters are not permitted. Catchers must wear a cup. Managers shoud encourage a payers to wear a cup. A catches must wear chest protectors with neck coar, throat guard, shin guards, and catcher s hemet, a of which must meet itte eague specifications and standards. A catcher s must wear a mask with danging type throat protector and catcher s hemet during practice, pticher warm-ups, and games. Shoes with meta spikes are NOT permitted. Payers wi not wear jewery of any kind. (Exception for medica aert type jewery). Managers wi never eave an unattended chid at a practice or a game. No chidren under the age of 12 are permitted in the concession stand.
38 PLL Safety Code Cont. Never hesitate to report any kind of present or potentia safety hazard to the eague safety officer. No acoho or drugs are aowed at any of the fieds, incuding stands and concession stand at any time. No paying on or around awn equipment, machinery at any time. No cimbing on fences. No cimbing on dugouts. Payers and spectators shoud be aert at a times for fou bas and errant throws. A gates to the fieds must be cosed at a times.
39 Parent Code of Conduct Sport Parent Code of Conduct We, the Litte League, have impemented the foowing Sport Parent Code of Conduct for the important message it hods about the proper roe of parents in supporting their chid in sports. Parents shoud read, understand and sign this form prior to their chidren participating in our eague. Any parent guity of improper conduct at any game or practice wi be asked to eave the sports faciity and be suspended from the foowing game. Repeat vioations may cause a mutipe game suspension, or the season forfeiture of the priviege of attending a games. Preambe The essentia eements of character-buiding and ethics in sports are embodied in the concept of sportsmanship and six core principes: Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibiity, Fairness, Caring, and Good Citizenship. The highest potentia of sports is achieved when competition refects these six piars of character. I therefore agree: 1. I wi not force my chid to participate in sports. 2. I wi remember that chidren participate to have fun and that the game is for youth, not aduts. 3. I wi inform the coach of any physica disabiity or aiment that may affect the safety of my chid or the safety of others. 4. I wi earn the rues of the game and the poicies of the eague. 5. I (and my guests) wi be a positive roe mode for my chid and encourage sportsmanship by showing respect and courtesy, and by demonstrating positive support for a payers, coaches, officias and spectators at every game, practice or other sporting event. 6. I (and my guests) wi not engage in any kind of unsportsmanike conduct with any officia, coach, payer, or parent such as booing and taunting; refusing to shake hands; or using profane anguage or gestures. 7. I wi not encourage any behaviors or practices that woud endanger the heath and we being of the athetes. 8. I wi teach my chid to pay by the rues and to resove conficts without resorting to hostiity or vioence. 9. I wi demand that my chid treat other payers, coaches, officias and spectators with respect regardess of race, creed, coor, sex or abiity. 10. I wi teach my chid that doing one s best is more important than winning, so that my chid wi never fee defeated by the outcome of a game or his/her performance. 11. I wi praise my chid for competing fairy and trying hard, and make my chid fee ike a winner every time. 12. I wi never ridicue or ye at my chid or other participants for making a mistake or osing a competition. 13. I wi emphasize ski deveopment and practices and how they benefit my chid over winning. I wi aso de-emphasize games and competition in the ower age groups. 14. I wi promote the emotiona and physica webeing of the athetes ahead of any persona desire I may have for my chid to win. 15. I wi respect the officias and their authority during games and wi never question, discuss, or confront coaches at the game fied, and wi take time to speak with coaches at an agreed upon time and pace. 16. I wi demand a sports environment for my chid that is free from drugs, tobacco, and acoho and I wi refrain from their use at a sports events. 17.
