I observed a black Mercedez Benz C300 MI-CMH5702 traveling in the left lane on IR-75N between mile posts and The vehicle appeared to be traveling faster than the posted speed limit of 65 mph. I estimated the speed of the vehicle to be 85 mph. I activated laser unit # TS and it displayed a consistent reading of 85 mph. I stopped the vehicle and I spoke to Ashley Watson. She told me that she thought she was going about 70 mph. She then asked if it was okay to speed in order to pass another vehicle and I stated no. She had a female passenger with her. She did not show proof of insurance. She was cited for speed and was given a court date for 05/14/13 at 1700 hrs. I had good tracking and there were no obstructions. The calibration was checked and it was functioning properly. 6 While on routine patrol, I was parked in the alley between W. Seventh St. and W. Eighth St. facing west at W. Boundary Street. I observed a black Kia (OH-FOR1475) traveling north towards me on W. Boundary at what appeared to be above the posted 40 mph speed limit. I estimated the vehicles speed at approximately 56 mph. I used laser unit UX to perform a speed check and found the vehicle to be traveling at 58 mph. I initiated a traffic stop with the vehicle and advised the driver, Veronica Medina, why I had stopped her. I asked Veronica if there was any reason she was driving so fast. Veronica advised that she had plans at 8:00pm. Veronica Medina was issued citation #96636 for speed 58/40 mph ORC: B and given a court date of 05/14/13 at 5:00pm. While en route to the area, dispatch advised that Perrysburg Township Police had just given the woman a ride to Speedway on US 20, and warned her not to be walking on the interstate. I located Shirley Turner on I-75 south, near mile marker Turner acknowledged that the Perrysburg Township officer had warned her not to walk on the interstate. She said she had been unable to find at ride at Speedway, so she began walking on the interstate again anyway. She advised she was on her way to Tennessee, and wanted to find a rest stop or a truck stop for the night. I issued Turner a citation for Freeway - Prohibited Acts (Pedestrian on the Interstate) A1a - mm. I then transported Turner to the Flying J truck stop on I-280. It appeared to be over the posted 25 mph speed limit. I estimated the vehicle to be traveling at about 40 mph. I used laser unit TS to perform a speed check and found the vehicle to be traveling at 42 mph. I initiated a traffic stop and advised the driver, Ms. Flick, why I had stopped her. Ms. Flick advised she had just recently bought the car. Ms. Flick advised she had never had a ticket and was old in an attempt to receive a warning. Ms. Flick was cited for speed. There was an adult female front passenger.i had good tracking, no interference, and a calibration check was done at about 1540 hrs.
