4 A Professional Society Serving Passionate People Being a student member in ASCE has given me the chance to share and enrich my passion for civil engineering among the camaraderie of my peers. My first job came from a manager who handed me his card at an ASCE breakout session, and my five years as lead track and signal engineer for the Alameda Corridor Project and the management of other large transit and rail projects were made possible by values and skills I developed working on ASCE committees.
