3 page Gymtowne s Gymnasts Qualify for Regionals At NorCal State Meet NorCal Levels 8, 9, & 10 State Championships Hosted by Golden Bear Gymnastics in Berkeley, CA March 28-29, 2015 It was an exciting weekend at the University of Berkeley, where top level gymnasts from all over Northern California collected at the UCB Field House Gym for some serious athletic competition. After another year of hard work, our team was ready for this state meet. Level 8: Ysabell Myhres competed in the Junior A division and placed in the top 5 in three events: beam - 4th place, vault and uneven bars - 5th places. Her overall score of placed her 7th All Around. In the Senior C division, Jolie Chiu s vault technique earned her a tie for 2nd place. With another tie on the floor, this time for 5th place, she easily placed 5th All Around with a score of Level 9: Julia Bellamy had an awesome bars routine that scored her a 4th place medal in the Senior B division. Congratulations to all three gymnasts for qualifying to Regional Championships being held in Phoenix, Arizona at the end of April! Gymtowne Team Meets Competition Head On at State Championships and Scores Big! NorCal Levels 6 & 7 State Championships Hosted by Technique Gymnastics in Folsom, CA April 11-12, 2015 This State event was the finish of an exciting season for our Level 6 team. For our Level 7 team, it was a chance to qualify for the Level 7 Regional Championships that are coming up in Long Beach, CA. Happily, both teams finished with style and the Level 7 girls all qualified for the upcoming Regional Championships. Level 6: Both Zoe Kalem and Makayla Vining competed in the Senior E division. Zoe was all focus on the beam and she placed 3rd in that event. On the vault, Makayla came in 6th. Level 7: In the Junior G division, Sierra Koloamatangi placed 6th on the uneven bars. She was also our team s top scorer with an overall score of Anya Wu, our Junior H gymnast, placed 8th on the vault. Scoring a on the vault in the Senior H division, Nia Guevara tied for 7th place in that event. Congratulations to our Level 7 team for qualifying to Regionals. Long Beach, here we come!

4 page 4 Gymtowne s Xcel Team Goes To The State Championships And Brings Home The Bling! 2015 NorCal Xcel State Championships Hosted by Byers Roseville in Loomis, CA on April 10-12, 2015 This was an exciting week-end for our large Xcel team. They ve been working hard all year and this State Championship proved how prepared and skilled our girls were. Most qualified to continue on and compete in the upcoming Regional Championships in Long Beach! Xcel Bronze: Ch. B Div- Marguerite Bigue was the gymnast to beat at this meet! She was the top scoring Gymtowne Gymnast with an overall score of With numbers like that, she was easily #1 All Around State Champion in her division. She was also State Champion on the floor, 2nd on the vault and 3rd on the beam. State Beam Champion Bridgette Timpano was tops on the beam with a score of Her overall score placed her 3rd All Around. Jr. A Div- Stephanie Beckler placed 13th on the bars and floor. Jr. B Div- On the bars, Siofra Linden flew to a tie for 2nd place. Rebecca Morales tied for 12th on the beam. Sr. B Div- Camille Bennett came in 10th place on the beam. Xcel Silver: Ch. C Div- Genesis Hamilton tied for 5th on the bars with a score of Jr. A Div- New State Floor Champion Julissa Matadamas was on her game at this meet. Not only did she dominate the floor competition, she also placed 2nd in the overall standings with a score of Also winning top honors, Nataly Neves earned the title State Uneven Bars Champion with a score of Her 3rd place on the vault helped her place 3rd in the overall standings. Elise Hackenberg s beautiful tumbling placed her 3rd on the floor. Jr. B Div- Isabella Pautin placed 5th on both the beam and floor. Jr. C Div- On the Beam, Katherine Tse tied for 4th place. Jr D Div - Congratulations go out to Olivia Ciaravino! Her high flying vault earned her a State Vaulting Champion title. She also tied for 3rd on the bars. Sr. A Div - Double State Champion Clarina Camicia was #1 on both the vault and floor and 4th All Around. Julia Kuschner vaulted to a 4th place. Abby Moore placed 7th on the floor. On the beam, Tessa Mahon tied for 12th place. Sr. C Div - Perfectly balanced Megan Lee easily earned the title State Beam Champion with her score of With her tie for 2nd on the floor, she placed 2nd in the All Around standings. Sr. D Div - Padma Armstrong tied for 14th on the vault. Xcel Gold: Jr. B Div- Shea Wakasa placed 7th on the uneven bars. Jr. C Div - State Vaulting Champion Youki Miyoshi earned her win with a score on the vault. Beautiful tumbling gave Tessa Payne the score needed to place 3rd on the floor. Anna Steinberg placed 10th on the bars and Riley Rhodes was 15th on the beam. Sr. A Div- Coming in 5th on the bars, Athena Kalabolas scored a for her efforts. On the beam, Gracie Mahon placed 7th. Sr. B Div - Maxine Lanier placed 8th on the beam. Sr. D Div- Top scoring Madison Perkins won her State Balance Beam Champion title with a beam score of She also tied for 2nd on the floor and was 2nd overall. Vault was Natalie Bellino s best event. Her skills earned her a 2nd place medal. Natalie s sister, Emma Bellino flew to a 6th place on vault. Xcel Platinum: Jr. A Div- Kaileigh Willis floor routine scored a 7th place. Sr. A Div- Grace Hagy tied for 11th on the floor. Sr. B Div- On the beam, Allison Koehler scored and a 3rd place. Great job Team!!!!!
