Bleary & District Pipe Band won the Grade 2 Title The band formed in 1956, and was made up of members from the townlands of Bleary, Ballydougan, Ballinagarrick, Clare and Knocknamuckley. In 1978, they acquired the service of Jimmy Johnston, who in 1976, was Pipe Major of Ballycoan when they won the Grade 2 World Championship. Bleary & District was promoted to Grade 3 in 1979, and by the early 1980 s won prizes at this grade. After a break from competing, 1994 saw a return to RSPBA competitions at Grade 4 level. The remainder of the 90 s was one of Bleary s brightest ever periods, winning several major championships at home and in Scotland, culminating in winning Grade 3A World Championship in Glasgow in August 1999, consequently the band was promoted to Grade 2. The band won the British Championship at this level at Pitlochry 2003, and tied for 1 st place at the European and World Championships, with Top 6 prizes at Scottish and Cowal Championships the same year. The band are current holders of the UK Pipe Band Championship Grade 2 Title. Aughintober Pipe Band were placed 4 th at Grade 2 Augintober Pipe Band are based in Castlecaulfield, Co. Tyrone. Originally a flute band, the transitions to Pipes was made in In 1997, the band joined the RSPBA and took part in its first competition at Newcastle, Co. Down. The band continues to teach local children piping and drumming on a weekly basis. The band competes at Grade 3A. Since 1997, the band its members have collected 7 World Titles, in addition to various British, European, All-Ireland, Ulster & Champion Of Champion Awards. Ravara Pipe Band were placed 2 nd at Grade 1 Ravara is one of Northern Ireland s most respected and top bands, over many years. The band was formed in 1946, and is based in Saintfield, Co. Down. Having been on the Pipe Band competition scene for many decades, Ravara have earned the reputation of being one of Ireland and the UK s most respected pipe bands. The Band s Roster boasts an impressive 35+ membership, and in 2012 Ravara earned the prestigious Grade 1 Title for just the third time in its history. Under the direction of Pipe Major Samuel Connolly and Drum Sergeant Neil Ussher, the band have collected 17 trophies in this grade and continue to strive forward and achieve success to add to this already impressive collection.

2 THE 2014 BELFAST TATOO DRUM MAJOR DISPLAY TEAM *** Success for Adult Drum Majors included Brian Wilson (Lomond and Clyde), placed 3 rd, Andrea McKeown (Battlehill Pipe Band), placed 4 th, and David Brownlee (Derryclavin Pipe Band) placed 5 th *** BRIAN WILSON MBE Lomond & Clyde Pipe Band Brian Wilson won the Adult Title in the Mid-Ulster Championships 2014, and was placed 3 rd in the Adult City Of Lisburn Championships 2014, 3 rd in the Adult Borough Of Ards Championships 2014, 2 nd in the UK Adult Championship 2014, 5 th in the Adult Craigavon & District Championships 2014, and 5 th in the European DAVID BROWNLEE Derryclavin Pipe Band David Brownlee was the Senior Champion Of Champions in He was placed 3 rd in the All Ireland Championships 2014, 3 rd in the Mid-Ulster Championships 2014, 4 th in the Adult City Of Lisburn Championships 2014 and 4 th in the Adult UK ALICIA DICKSON Matt Boyd Memorial Pipe Band Alicia Dickson took the Adult Title at the All Ireland Championships 2014, and was placed 2 nd in this year s Adult City Of Lisburn Championships 2014, Adult Borough Of Ards Championship 2014 & Scottish Championships 2014, 5 th in the Adult UK Championships, 3 rd place in the Adult Craigavon & District Championships 2014, and 4 th in the Mid-Ulster Alicia held the Title for 2011 Adult World Champion. 3 Jason Price was placed 4 th in the All Ireland Championships 2014, 6 th in the Adult City Of Lisburn Championships 2014, 7 th in the Adult Borough Of Ards Championships 2014, 4 th in the Adult British Championships 2014, and 9 th in the Mid-Ulster Jason held the Title for 2013 Juvenile World Champion. The 24 Champion Drum Majors, drawn from all levels across competition grades, will put on a display never before seen in Ulster.
