2 CHAMPIONSHIP GUIDLINES The HBCU Stomp N Shake Championship Welcome to the HBCU Stomp N Shake Championship UFIT Cheer and Dance will host its first Historically Black College and University Stomp N Shake Championship in the Brayboy Gymnasium of Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte, NC. The HBCU SNS Championship provides a platform for cheerleading squads to perform their particular skill and style in a nontraditional cheerleading arena. The Championship Categories In this division, several categories are presented for cheerleading squads to perform their unique choreography and creative cheer skills, as well as acrobatic talents. The HBCU SNS Championship is a Non Traditional Competition where Traditional cheerleading meets Stomp and Shake! UFIT Cheer and Dance recognizes both Traditional Cheerleading and Stomp and Shake styles as both accredited cheerleading styles and will welcome the combination of both in the Championship. Battle of the Baseline Knuck If You Buck Creative Stomp N Shake Performance All Stomp N Shake Cheerleader UFIT Cheer and Dance Incorporated enables the following squads to compete in the HBCU Stomp N Shake Championship HBCU Cheerleading Squads CHAMPIONSHIP GUIDELINES Stomp N Shake Cheerleading teams ages 18 and up CREATIVE STOMP N SHAKE PERFORMANCE At check in, team coaches representing squads that will compete in the Creative Stomp N Shake Performance category will pick a number before the competition begins. The number chosen by the team staff member will be the sequential order followed in the Creative Stomp N Shake category. Performing squads will be expected to perform choreography including cheers, chants, stunting, tumbling, jumps, dance/sequence and creative motions. Judges will score once performance is complete. A second panel of judges will submit critiques and/or observations for performance and skill improvements. Winners of this category will be announced and awarded during the award ceremony. Each performing squad will have 5 (five) minutes to perform a stunt and tumble, Stomp N Shake routine. UFIT will allot a five second grace period. Squads will not be penalized for a minimum timed routine however; there will be a five-point deduction for any performance that exceeds the five second grace period. Teams will have one minute and thirty seconds to set the floor with props if needed The timing of the routine will begin with the first word chanted, sound of music, or sight of motion made by the performing team. If a specialty entrance is made, with chanting, motions or music, it will be considered a part of the performance and the time will begin.

3 There are no boundaries during the Creative Stomp N Shake Performance category. Performing teams have full access to the performance floor. Vulgarity, profane language or gestures are prohibited. Please indicate mat placement during your run through (on the day of the event) to the UFIT event official or staff member on duty. UFIT All SNS Cheerleader Category Guidelines Each team may select 1 (one) athlete to compete for the UFIT All SNS Cheerleader title. Submit a 2 (two) minute and 30 (thirty) second video explaining what it means to be a Stomp N Shake cheerleader and showcasing their school/organization style and any individual cheer talent and skill. The video must be submitted by the posted deadline. UFIT Cheer and Dance Incorporated and UFIT staff and committees will review submitted videos and vote on the winner. All cheer-athletes will be recognized at the HBCU Stomp N Shake competition before the winner is announced. **Video should be no longer than 2 (two) minutes and 30 (thirty) seconds **No derogatory language nor gestures should appear in the video. **Keep the video relative to the cheer athlete and a positive representation of the squad Submit the video by the posted deadline. Late videos will not be eligible for review.

4 CHAMPIONSHIP GUIDLINES KNUCK IF YOU BUCK Three songs will be chosen for each round- please prepare for all music provided for the Knuck If You Buck Challenge (Song List provided by UFIT Staff) Music selection will change per round and for each face off Each qualified competing squads name will be submitted to the judges. Once the category is introduced, the Head Judge will draw team names for the order in which teams will face-off. The reigning team of the category will automatically advance to the second round if there is an odd number of teams competing. Each team will perform three dance/sequences/eight counts of choice. Judges will score the three rounds, and make their final decision as to which team will advance to the second round and so on after each face-off. The winning team will then move to the next round once all teams have competed and face off until all rounds are completed. Judges will score the three rounds within a face-off as one score. A second panel of Judges will leave observations and critiques to improve on performance and skill. Once all teams have performed in their face-off, the team with the highest score in the last face-off will be crowned as the winner of Knuck If You Buck. Teams competing in the Knuck If You Buck category must perform Sideline/ eight count/ sequence dances. Each team will have 1 (one) minute to perform. Once music is cut, two 8 counts to end will be allotted. Going over the grace period will result in a 5 (five) point deduction. Performers may not cross the half court line Each dance/stance/sequence must begin behind the baseline. No upward formation moves across the half court line will be allowed. Squads are allowed to move forward, outward and inward within transitioning in formations as long as they do NOT cross the half court line. No member of any squad (performing nor spectating) will be allowed to cross the half court line. Once the team has performed in a round, they must go back to the baseline before the opposing team begins. Neither coaches nor any team staff members are allowed at the baseline when teams are performing. All staff members and competing squad members are quiet and respectful when the opposing teams are competing. Any disruptions from any other squad not performing while another squad is performing, will result in a ten-point deduction. No vulgar nor derogatory movement and gestures will be allowed within a performance. Not adhering to this rule will result in a 10 (ten) point deduction. No vulgar or derogatory language or motions will be allowed before, during or after the competition. Unsportsmanlike conduct will result in disqualification of the team in the HBCU Stomp N Shake Championship.

If you are in question, please speak with a QCCDC staff member before the event. A song list will be submitted to all registered teams for the Queens and Kings Stand Battle Scoring Please see Scoring Rubric, Score sheets and details in separate document.
