Lane, (pictured left), comes to us after previously managing a BBQ smokehouse in Urbana. I have done everything you can do in a restaurant, from serving tables to cooking, to managing, said Lane. She is enjoying her new role as Kitchen Manager for our lodge, and deems it a nice change from the corporate world. Summertime is extremely hectic for the kitchen, as the population around the lake swells with campers, boaters and seasonal homeowners. Keeping things running smoothly is the number one challenge for all restaurants around the lake, and the Indian Lake Moose Kitchen is no exception. I think that, with a little time and teamwork, the kitchen will do great things. We are hoping for a much smoother summer next year, stated Lane. 2 HALLOWEEN FUN AT LODGE #1533 Lots of members came out in amazing costumes for the Adult Halloween Party, which was held on October 28. Congratulations to the costume winners shown below, top row, L-R. 1 st Place Frankenstein His Bride, Heather Steve Harford; 2 nd Place Fred Wilma Flintstone, Mark Sarah Bayley; 3 rd Place Scarecrows, Bill Cindy Lee. After the costume judging, everyone had a great night dancing to the sounds of the Dolly Dagger Band. A second show will air on December 3, featuring Indian Lake homebuyers, Shawn and Kerry Bowshier, from Urbana.

The therapist-approved Trykes have a price range of $600 to $1,400, depending upon their complexity.

Indian Lake Moose Member, Dawn Stump, is chairman for the project, which raised funds for the AMTRYKES. The AMTRYKES were provided by the Local Chapter of AMBUCS International.

7 HONORING OUR COMMUNITY HEROES PROGRAM EXTENDED The campaign to Honor our Community Heroes was such a success, that the program has been extended through the end of this year. From now until December 31, 2017, Moose membership dues first year fees for Active Military Personnel, First Responders, Members of the National Guard, and Border Patrol Officers will be waived. This is a great way for our Moose Fraternity to say Thank You to those who serve this great country, our local communities. Please help spread the word! INDIAN LAKE SHOWCASED BY HGTV Local residents (pictured below) gathered on November 12, to preview HGTV s television show, Island Time. The show featured David and Lauren Major as they shopped for, and purchased, their home on Indian Lake. The event was sponsored by the Indian Lake Chamber of Commerce, and was hosted by the Indian Lake Moose Lodge. LODGE #1533 DONATES AMTRYKES TO LOCAL KIDS The Men and Women of Indian Lake Moose Lodge will present Addisyn Butler and Austin Ferguson, both from Russell s Point, with their own AMTRYKES on Wednesday, December 13 at the Lodge. Santa and Mrs. Claus will also be on hand. AMTRYKES are specially designed and built Trykes for those with mobility issues. Addisyn, 10, suffers from gross motor delay and cannot ride a bicycle. Austin, 6, is nonverbal and suffers from Angelman s Syndrome. The therapist-approved Trykes have a price range of $600 to $1,400, depending upon their complexity. Aside from their therapeutic value, they allow the children to ride with their siblings and friends, for added mental support and freedom. MEET OUR NEW GOVERNOR The Indian Lake Board of Officers accepted the resignation of Bruce Black from the office of Governor, effective November 21 st. This paved the way for Don Rudy Rudasil (pictured left) to move from Jr. Governor to Governor of our Lodge. You may have seen Rudy around the social quarters, running special raffles, 50/50 s and more. He is a huge asset to our lodge, and is always eager to help out in any way he can. Next time you see Rudy, be sure to congratulate him on his new position! 8 Welcome to the holidays at Indian Lake Moose Lodge! We have some special events coming up, which are sure to add some cheer to the upcoming season. Check out this newsletter for more information. I would like to welcome Rudy Rudasil as our new Governor. He is thrilled to be in this new role, and I am sure he will do a fantastic job. I would also like to welcome Lane Calland as our Kitchen Manager. She is a much-needed addition to our Lodge s busy kitchen, and we are very happy to have her join our team! We can all agree that Moose Lodge #1533 is a great place to spend time with our families and friends, and we are always striving to make our Lodge better. Any feedback good or bad is welcome, but it will only be taken into consideration if there is a name attached. Member feedback is invaluable, and is most effective when there can be an open exchange. Also, please remember that this is a Family Fraternity, and to be considerate of those around you regarding the use of foul language in the Social Quarters.
