MYANMAR S KILLING FIELDS May 8 Secret footage going back years shows the effort to kill and expel Rohingya Muslims from Myanmar. With accounts from victims and a whistleblower within the military, the film examines evidence that security forces committed crimes against humanity. WEINSTEIN May 22 How the Hollywood mogul allegedly sexually harassed and abused dozens of women over four decades. With allegations going back to Weinstein s early years, the film investigates the elaborate ways he and those around him tried to silence his accusers. UN SEX ABUSE SCANDAL May 29 An investigation of sex abuse by United Nations peacekeepers in the world s conflict zones. The film traces allegations from Bosnia to Congo to the Central African Republic, with firsthand accounts from survivors, witnesses, and officials. 3 A SALUTE TO OUR ARMED FORCES Saturday, May 1PM Huey is a Medevac helicopter, shot down in 1969 during a medical rescue in Vietnam, that is resurrected from a boneyard in Arizona and transformed into a colorful sculpture by artist Steve Maloney. As the iconic Huey 174 morphs from wounded war bird into a vivid sculpture, viewers witness the power of art to heal surviving soldiers and families of the fallen. During the Vietnam War, CBS News correspondent Morton Dean and cameraman Greg Cooke flew on a harrowing medevac mission to rescue three wounded infantrymen from an enemy infested rice paddy. Dean long wondered what had become of the medevac crew and the bloodied men who were airlifted to safety on that day in American Medevac tells the story of their reunion, more than 40 years 2PM VA: THE HUMAN COST OF 3PM As a child he attended the best schools and traveled the world with his famous father, but when David Parks landed in Vietnam in 1967 there were no luxury hotels or five-star restaurants to pamper him. This youngest son of famed photographer and film director, Gordon Parks, found himself on the battlefield of one of most horrific wars. In the midst of this horror show as Parks calls it, he kept a diary of what he saw and did and later published it in a book titled, GI Diary. Explore the history of the Department of Veterans Affairs, from the troubled beginnings of the Veterans Bureau of 1920s to the modern VA system. Learn details of this vast, crucial American institution: its successes, failures and need for reforms. The Special Programming to Salute America's Armed Forces is Supported 7 & 8:30PM The 29th annual broadcast of the National Memorial Day Concert, brings us together as one family of Americans to honor the service and sacrifice of our men and women in uniform, military families and all those who have given their lives for our country. The concert features acclaimed actors Joe Mantegna and Gary Sinise and an all-star lineup of actors and musicians, along with top pops conductor Jack Everly and the National Symphony Orchestra.
