1 Kealey Knight Letter SERVING THE KNIGHTS OF GREATER OCEAN VIEW Volume 51, Issue 1 Grand Knight s Desk K n i g h t s o f C o l u m b u s C o u n c i l # B e s t i n t h e S o u t h September 2013 Vol 51 Issue 3 Dear Brother Knights and Family, July and August have quickly passed and we are coming into football season. This brings many great opportunities for Brotherhood. As the weather cools off, remember to watch for children going back to school and enjoy the upcoming events. Thanks for all the help at Bingo and especially all the hard work that the Bingo Managers do to make it successful. We ve seen an increase in the numbers at Bingo and I think it can be attributed to all the planning and hard work that they do. And congratulations to our Knight of the Month for August PGK Ed Lambe. It is well deserved for all the time and effort that he puts into making the council great. There are a lot of events happening in September so keep your eye on the council calendar and help out when you can. Keep in your prayers: Fr McGivney, our troops, and all the sick and/or in distress Brothers and family. Go to Mass and pray the Rosary often. Upcoming Events for September: Sep 1st Labor Day Picnic 12-3pm Sep 7th - State Training at the hall 9am-12pm Sep 13th - Monkey Bottom Practice OVLL fields Sep 14th - Road Cleanup 9am Sep 15th Sunday Breakfast 9-11am Sep 17th - 1st Degree at 7 30 pm Sep 18th - Monkey Bottom Practice OVLL fields Sep 25th - Monkey Bottom Practice OVLL fields Sep 27th Monkey Bottom Party Council 3548 Sep 28th Monkey Bottom followed by VFW 3160 Please see the Council Calendar on our web page for more events. We always welcome new members. You are strongly requested to bring at least one idea or topic you want to know more about in the coming year. EVERYONE is asked to think of something or someone you would like to visit our group. There are 7 months that we need to have a speaker and/or topic for and it is much easier if you all participate in this. Good chance to meet our new Grand Knight, Pat Nash and see some of your friends from the council. Thanks, Laura Reese ( )
