1 Moose Prints September 2014 Northglenn Moose Lodge 2166 & WOTM Chapter Northglenn Moose Lodge Golf Tournament a big Success! We decided to hold a golf tournament this year to raise money for Mooseheart and we raised $ ! We had 23 teams participate this time around and we are hoping for 36 next spring! We had a rain delay, the course had some standing water, but it all kicked off at 8:30 and the weather couldn t have been more perfect! We then returned to the Lodge after all the fun was over, enjoyed prime rib and drew our raffles. We had a lot of wonderful items donated to the raffle and our Sponsors for the tournament were generous. We look forward to doing this fundraiser again and don t be shy if you aren t a pro golfer; this is for charity and fun, so please sign a team up next time! If you run a business or work for a business that would be interested in participating in the spring please let Dave Potvin know at the Lodge! Governor s Message Greetings Fellow Moose, September s here!! Summer is almost over and the kids have gone back to school. We held our annual picnic last month.

If you have not been to the lodge in Grand Junction this would be a good opportunity for you to visit. Congratulations to Howard McGee for winning the monthly dues drawing for the month of August.

3 Governor s Message Greetings Fellow Moose, September s here!! Summer is almost over and the kids have gone back to school. We held our annual picnic last month. Everybody that participated enjoyed some tasty food and entertainment was provided. The Moose State Convention will be held in Grand Junction this year from September 18 th through the 21 st. If you have not been to the lodge in Grand Junction this would be a good opportunity for you to visit. Congratulations to Howard McGee for winning the monthly dues drawing for the month of August. We have already started selling tickets for the next monthly drawing. Try your luck and see if your name gets drawn for the month of September. Yahoo its football time again!!!! For all of you Football fans come on down to the lodge and enjoy our football parties. Come cheer for your favorite team Go Broncos!!! If you are not into football, the card players are always looking for more people on Monday and Thursday nights to play poker. Dave is still making some awesome dinners on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday nights. Now is a good time to clean out your closets, garages, and basements, and bring your items to the Moose for the garage sale on September 27 th. Watch for more details at the lodge. A Note from the Senior Regent August was a good month! I am looking forward to September and Grand Junction! We had our Mojito bar which was a good time.

4 A Note from the Senior Regent August was a good month! I am looking forward to September and Grand Junction! We had our Mojito bar which was a good time. I would like to say Thank you to Debbie for making such wonderful tasting mojitos. We also had our Friday taco dinner that went well and our Thanksgiving in August dinner. I would like to thank all my volunteers, Ashley, Mo, Galad, Mouse, Shirly, and Judy. A special thanks to all who made pies for our Thanksgiving dinner. We also had our mother, daughter tea and thank you Shirly and Denise for making all the wonderful salads, sure wish the turnout would have been better. I know that I have had many volunteers, Ella, Judi & Carol; I know I may have forgotten to thank you, but I have not, please know that I always appreciate the help!! Our birthday dinner is postponed until Oct. 11th. Please sign up at the bar. It will be a fun evening for all! We need volunteers for this month s Cook Your Own Steak night that the WOTM will be doing. Please come in Friday the 12 th before 6pm and lend a hand. This night always go smoother and more fun when we have a full roster of volunteers. Bring your friends and family and enjoy dinner! We are having a B.Y.O.Bowl night for homemade soups made by one of our Co-Workers, more details to come. We need more new ideas like this! Co-Worker of the month is Shirly Blakely. I would like to thank Shirly for also helping and being there to help. Shirly is a long time member and a good friend. Thanks to Betty Stephens for all your continued support in helping with the newsletter and collecting money for all our meals. Everyone is getting ready for mid-year conference, hoping we will learn a lot. For all who are attending the State Conference in Grand Junction I wish you a safe journey! If you have any suggestions on the dinner while the officers are away please let the Lodge know, as we are currently not scheduling a Friday night dinner that weekend! If you have any ideas on what we could do to help the lodge have more fun, raise more money, more participation and better things to do please feel free to let me know. Please bring hygiene products to the Lodge and drop them in the box in the lobby. Also we are collecting box tops and labels for education. In addition to all of this, save your chip bags (any size, any kind) and bring those in as well, they get recycled and the money goes to Mooseheart. Thanks! Shirly Blakely RECIPES WANTED!!! After being a member of Northglenn WOTM for more than 40 years, I have attended many Pot Luck Dinners. We have many great cooks in our chapter. I have put together a committee to make a cookbook. This cookbook will be dedicated to all past Senior Regents. We need all our members to submit their favorite recipes. The goal is to have it ready for Christmas. Special thanks to our marshmallow ladies for all their help in raising money. Thanks Chips & Dip, you did a wonderful job! To all the golfers, thank you for your support. Thank you to our sponsors; Sysco Foods, Olinger Funeral Homes, Townsend Retirement Co., Riverdale Golf Club and Budweiser. Thanks Jim Leist for recruiting all your Fireman friends. Oh I can t forget, thanks goes to Howard McGee for basically getting in the way most of the time. As of this time we have raised almost $ with a few donations still coming in. Thanks to my team, we might not have won but we were the hottest looking group on the course. In case nobody knows the coffee and donuts were compliments of Townsend Retirement Co. A special message to my golf partner Linda, my thoughts and prayers are with you. To all the golfers in the Matsuno mob, thank you. In the past two weeks we have been visited by Code Enforcement for various infractions. Thank you so much to whomever for caring and turning us in, but not being able to lend a hand to help fix the problems. Well the issues have been addressed and we are no longer in violation. On another note, Friday dinners have been lacking for use of a better word. We need this income to keep OUR Lodge running. PLEASE come out and support YOUR Lodge. Mid-month we head off to Grand Junction for our mid-year conference. Safe travel to all who are going. Finally on a sad note Frank Fregulia, the husband of my Moose Charities boss has passed away.
