2 WELCOME FROM PORT-MACQUARIE HASTINGS COUNCIL On behalf of Port Macquarie-Hastings Council I would like to extend a warm welcome to all competitors, spectators and their families for the Trans-Tasman Series being held in Port Macquarie in September. Securing this event marks a new partnership between Port Macquarie-Hastings Council and Cricket Australia which is set to bring three days of outstanding cricket, where fans will get to see the top players from Australia and New Zealand in action. Championships play a significant role in uniting and inspiring Australians, with over 180,000 indoor cricket participants in Australia and there is no doubt that this sport is rapidly growing in popularity. I d encourage you all to take some time to discover the many tourism experiences on offer across our destination. To our Kiwi friends, I hope you enjoy our uniquely Australian attractions. Good luck and congratulations to all involved in supporting an impressive tournament which will be seen as a pathway to the World Championships in Dubai. The event will showcase some of the best indoor cricketers in the world in what will be a repeat, across all divisions, of the most recent WICF World Cup finals held in, NZ (201). We particularly extend a very warm welcome to the New Zealand representatives and thank Warwick Simmons, their coaches, officials and teams for making the trip to Port Macquarie for the event. We hope that you enjoy your stay here and find the tournament a wonderful opportunity to showcase your skills, renew friendships and build towards the 201 World Cup in Dubai. Australia also look forward to the return leg of the Trans-Tasman Series in NZ in The Trans-Tasman Series was a regular feature on the international indoor cricket calendar between the mid 1980 s through to 2008 and we are delighted that it is back to help provide high quality representative cricket to support our current elite players and inspire the next generation to work hard and perhaps represent their country at the highest level - as so many current indoor & outdoor stars have done before.
