2 Music Tempos RIALACHA NA FEIS / FEIS RULES 1. Entries will only be accepted from Teachers currently registered with An coimisiun. 2. Age will be reckoned from 1 st January Objections must be lodged in writing within one hour of the announcement of a result of a competition and be accompanied by a fee of Beginners and Primary competitions are open to ALL REGIONS. 5. Beginners competitions are confined to those who have never won a first prize for that particular dance in any age group. BASIC STEPS MUST BE PERFORMED. 6. Primary competitions are confined to those who have never won a first prize for that particular dance in any age group in Primary, Intermediate, or Open. 7. When a beginner competition has 6 dancers or more, the first two places advance to the next grade, regardless of ties. When a beginner competition has 11 dancers or more, then the first 3 places advance to the next grade regardless of ties. 8. When a Primary competition has 6 dancers or more, the first place winner advances to the next grade. When a Primary competition has 11 dancers or more, then the first 2 places advance to the next grade regardless of ties. ( RTME ruling June 2011). 9. Intermediate competitions are open to all dancer who have not previously won first prize for that particular dance in Intermediate or Open under the same or higher age groups. 10. Trophy Hard Shoe Dances in Beginners and Primary, a dancer can choose between a Treble Jig or a Hornpipe. 11. The Feis organisers cannot accept any Liability for injury, loss or damage to property while on the Premises or in car park. 12. Music will be played at the recognised Coimisiun speeds. Beginner Primary Inter/Open Reel 121/ / Light Jig Slip Jig Single Jig Treble Jig Hornpipe Filming of dancers is allowed up to and including Primary level. 14. Within Limits specified in the Rules of An Coimisiun the organisers may at their discretion cancel competitions with insufficient entries. 15. The feis will be run in accordance with the Rules of An Coimisiun and RECCA

3 16. where there are five dancers or less for Beginners, Primary and Intermediate competitions, the results will not affect their grading. 17. No Refunds. 18. Dancers will dance 32 BARS in all Grades 19. Open Premier Championships, dancers will be expected to dance one light dance, a Reel or a Slip Jig, two Hard shoe dances. A Treble Jig or Hornpipe and a set dance of their choice, in the Under 12 Premier Championship dancers will be allowed to dance a Traditional Set if they so wish. 20. The lodgement of an entry will be taken to mean that a teacher and pupils understand these rules and undertake to abide by them.
