2 London and Home Counties Branch Rules of Feiseanna 1. The adjudicator's decision is final. 2. Any form of communication with an adjudicator may render a competitor liable to disqualification. 3. The Feis Organiser reserves the right to amend the programme where necessary. 4. The Feis Organiser reserves the right to substitute the published adjudicator(s) should the need arise. 5. The right of admission is reserved. 6. The decision of the Feis Organiser is final in all matters arising from, or not specifically provided for in these rules. 7. Dancers must line up when called upon to do so. Once the first three competitors step onto the dance floor the competition will be closed, unless the Feis Organiser deems it necessary to hold it open st 8. Ages will be taken as 1 January 2018 and proof of date of birth will berequired if challenged. 9. Objections must be submitted through a qualified teacher to the Feis Organiser with the required fee of 3 prior to the announcement of results. st 10. Beginners Grade - Confined to those who have never won a 1 prize in that particular dance in any age group. st 11. Pre-Open Grade - Confined to those who have never won a 1 prize in that particular dance in any age group which is specified. 12. Open Grade - Not confined to either Beginners or Pre-Open. 13. Competitors must be in full costume for the presentation of prizes. 14. No video cameras or still photographs to be taken during competitions. These may be used during prize giving. 15. All competitors under 9 and below, competitors in Beginners A, B and Figure competitions must wear class costumes, or skirt, blouse, etc. Those wearing solo costumes will not be allowed to compete and their entry fee will not be refunded. 16. All perpetual trophies must be returned annually, in time for the relevant competition, when a replica will be given. Failure to return a perpetual trophy will result in An Comhdhail rules being implemented (suspension from competition for 3 months). 17. Competitors may only dance outside their own age group in solo competitions when the dance is not catered for in their own age group, except where a competition is a double age group. 18. Competitors may not compete in more than two grades for a particular dance in all age groups. 19. In figure dancing 50% of the team must be of the specified age group, and only 50% of a team may compete in another team in the same competition. 20. Dancers are not permitted to change costumes in the hall. They may use a designated changing area. 21. This competition is registered with An Comhdhail Muinteoiri Na Rinci Gaelacha and under the rules of the London & Home Counties Branch. 22. As and from 1st Jan 2008 no make-up permitted up to and including under Smoking is not permitted anywhere on the school grounds. 24. Mobile phones must be switched off or on silent in competition halls. 25. All dancers are prohibited from wearing any form of glitter on their face. 26. A dancer may only compete in one 2 hand or one 3 hand in any one age group. 27. Beginners Trophy s - Dancers must have preformed in the beginner reel, light jig, single jig, or slip jig. Competitors must be in beginners A or B for the dance they perform in the Trophy. 28. Pre Open Trophy s - Dancers must have danced in one of the Pre Open competitions in their own age group, this does not include the treble reel. Dancers must be in Pre Open for the dance they perform in the trophy dance. 29. Numbers must be worn in the middle.

3 Notes to be read in conjunction with the syllabus 1. ** Non Championship Holder Reels - Confined to dancers who have never won an open championship in any age group and confined to London & Home Counties, and Southern England Region branches only. 2. *** Overseas Reel Championships - Confined to dancers whose teachers are registered with branches other than London & Home Counties and Southern England Region. 3. **** NCH - Confined to dancers who have never won an open championship under 3 adjudicators with 2 dances in any age group and confined to London & Home Counties, and Southern England Region branches only. 4. Competition Fees : 2018 All solo dances 2.50 Beginner & pre-open trophies 3.50 All solo open championships, boys, confined, non-championship holders and overseas championships 4.00 All figure (including championships) 2.00 Family Fee (hall levy not included) Hall Levy (per family / per day) All entry fees are to be forwarded with the entry forms in Sterling, please. Late entries will only be accepted if convenient to the Feis Organiser and will be subject to the late entry fee of No more than 10 possibles per entry. 7. Fees can be paid online or via bank transfer, only in one lump sum (Teachers only).
