3 SIMONDS STADIUM 2015/16 ANNUAL REPORT The City of Greater Geelong handed over operational control of Simonds Stadium on 30 September Having actively managed the stadium since the Hickey Stand development in 2005, the City is proud of its achievements and leaves the facility in significantly better shape than it was inherited. The achievements over this time are considerable and include: > Bringing cricket back to the stadium > Attracting A League and international soccer fixtures > Transforming the stadium into a motocross track, concert venue, rugby pitch, supporters day venue as well as starring in multiple TV commercials > Maintaining community access to the facility The greatest legacy is the community spirit surrounding the stadium and the pride the people of Geelong have in this stadium. We look forward to working in partnership with the Kardinia Park Stadium Trust, wishing them the best of success. PATRONAGE PER MAJOR ON-GROUND EVENT 2015/16

4 KEY ACHIEVEMENTS > BBL Exhibition Match between Melbourne Stars and Melbourne Renegades. > International cricket tour match between the West Indies and Victorian Invitational XI. > A-League Match between Melbourne Victory and Central Coast Mariners. > 8 AFL Premiership Season matches played. > AFL NAB Challenge Match between Geelong and Collingwood football clubs had attendance above 20,000. > National Rugby Championship match played between Melbourne Rising and NSW Country Eagles. > Spartan Race Australia obstacle race. > Successful demolition of Brownlow and Jennings Stands and early stages of construction of the Simonds Stadium Stage 4 redevelopment (due for completion in May 2017) > Total stadium patronage of 281,656. KEY INITIATIVES > Implementation of Customer Service Ambassadors to assist patrons during events. > Improved safety and security measures. > Further staff education around evolving security threats. > Implementation of new financial systems. > Involved in state-wide security briefings. > Streamline gate control staffing to improve communications and management in critical events. SPORTS HOUSE TENANTS Simonds Stadium Sports House welcomed the Kardinia Park Stadium Trust in 2015/16. Leisure Networks also expanded its number of desk spaces. OPPORTUNITIES > Simonds Stadium Stage 4 redevelopment. > Procurement of new events, including international cricket. > Increased use of stadium outside of traditional winter period.

5 SIMONDS STADIUM EVENTS IN 2015/16 In 2015/16 Simonds Stadium hosted a number of significant events. With most notably, cricket was brought back to the stadium with T20 and International matches. There were also eight AFL matches and an A-League matches, featuring Melbourne Victory and the Central Coast Mariners.
