Pickle Ball Offering beginners learning sessions if needed. Equipment available in the Activity Office if you do not have your own. Round Robin play offered Monday-Friday from 11:30-1:00. Contact Jack Hester Shuffleboard Open Shuffling is at 9 AM Mon.-Fri. & 9:30 Saturday Take part in free lessons 8:30 AM on Monday There are 8 shuffleboards. The Resort has 2 teams in the park. Each team plays 5 out of park teams. The In-Park tournament is held in January & February. The Annual party is at the end of the tournament...lots of good food. Every year we also hold a Fun Day. Play in the evening under the lights. You are welcome to shuffle anytime of the day from 9 AM until 10 PM, unless there are tournaments scheduled. Rules & regulations are posted for preparing the boards for play which helps to keep our boards in good shape. Contact: Nancy Mulholland Softball Men The Resort s senior men s softball begins around November 1st. League play will begin in January. Contact: Glen Spangler Softball Women Contact: Shirley Boder Tennis Courts are available for round robin play in the morning at 7:00 AM and in the evening at 7:00 PM. Play is open to anyone in the park. The tennis players at The Resort have many options for great tennis matches. Beginner classes: If you are interested in learning how to play tennis you can contact Floyd Massey about practice days & times. Mixed Doubles: Held on Saturday morning. You & your opposite partner sign up on the bulletin board at the clubhouse. The play for Saturday AM will be posted each week. League Matches: For those people who like competition The Resort Tennis Club has 9 teams at levels 1.5, 2.0, 2.5, 3.0 & 3.5 who play in the East Valley Seniors Tennis League. If you are interested in team play, please contact John Kelley Your own tennis play: If you would like to set up your own match, sign up on the clipboard outside the tennis clubhouse. Invitational Matches: A sign up sheet is placed on the bulletin board for people wanting to participate in matches with other clubs during the year. There is a nominal fee to play at another park. The Resort Keglers Mesa Bowl East (Ellsworth & East on Broadway) Tuesday 12:30 PM be there earlier New Bowlers Welcome! See bulletin board for more information during the season.
7 FYI Bulletin Boards There are 2 bulletin boards by the Billiards Room for resident s ads. Use index cards, either 3 x 5 or 4 x 6 only. NO larger please. This includes all ads except for businesses who advertise in the newsletter. Cards are available in the Activity Office. Ads must be dated & initialed by someone in Activities & must be renewed every month. When the ad is answered please remove. Ads that do not comply will be removed & held in the Activity Office. Volunteers Sign up sheets are available in the Activity Office. We have many choices if you would like to get involved. It is asked that you volunteer at least 3 times in order to attend the Volunteer Party in March. Newletter The Shout Out is distributed the last week of every month. If you do not receive a newsletter please pick one up in the office. Website Check out the calendar for this season. Also, under News & Blogs watch for pictures from park events. Channel 10 & 6 The Activity Office posts upcoming events on the park channel 10. Due to space constraints we are unable to run ads for individuals. The park channel 6 is used for emergency information, such as water shutoffs. Doors open 30 minutes before an event. Please keep that in mind so you won t have to spend time standing in a line. Ticket Sales A list of tickets on sale is published each month in the Shout Out. Entertainment with reserved seating & New Years Eve tickets will be available October 1st. Most other tickets are available the month of the event. Bashes & Breakfasts are available on Monday the week of the meal. We have 2 events this year where we will offer both reserved seats & general admission tickets The Classics and Gordy & Debbie. You might want to think about getting your tickets for these events early so you will have a good choice of seats.
