1 THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW Many of you may remember a game we played when we began school called gossip. The teacher would write a sentence on a piece of paper and read the sentence in a whisper to one child. That child would then whisper what the teacher had read to the next student and so on around the room. The last child would then say out loud what he/she had heard. The teacher would read what was written and rarely were the beginning and ending story even remotely similar. Sometimes that game still gets played in day to day life. Recently there have been a couple of rumors or misinformation circulating through out Sanlan. We would just like to take a few minutes to clear up a couple of items. At the top of the list is the rumor that Sanlan will not be taking reservations next year. Nothing could be further from the truth. We value each one of you who comes back to spend your winters with us. We may tweak the reservation process somewhat for next year but we will be taking reservations at the appropriate time. This year we suspended reservations for a few days in an effort to maximize reservations we are looking toward longer stays versus one or two days and we want to minimize the number of moves within the park for the campers. The second rumor involves our cable/wifi that we have moved to a less expensive package and therefore residents lost some channels. The changes to our bulk cable and WiFi were made at the beginning of 2015 a full year ago. Previously the WiFi had been our own system and we signed a contract with Bright House who also provided our cable. Each guest in Sanlan who is on our bulk cable is able to upgrade at their own expense from the basic cable service Sanlan pays this bill which is for over 70 channels. Because of the bulk cable contract, there are additional discounts provided to the residents who choose to upgrade. Bright House has informed us that in the future, we will move from analog to an all digital system. What this means is that the manner in which Bright House sends its cable signal will no longer be that of analog, but that of digital which will require every TV in the home to have a box to be able to watch TV. This status is NOT in effect today and in the future Bright House will make provisions for all bulk customers to have cable reception to the home. At the present time, Sanlan is paying approximately $78,000 per year for WiFi and bulk cable. A third item involves Bathhouse # 5. This particular bathhouse will be permanently closed at the end of the season. Guests in that area will need to have a working 3 piece bathroom in your camper or RV. At the present time no decision has been made as to how that space will be used. During the next couple of months we will be working in the RV Parking area to improve the drainage in that area. We hope this information clears up some of the misinformation that our office staff has been asked about. If you have additional concerns, please let us know.

We have four tee placements, to accommodate all skill levels from serious golfers to beginners. Blue is the longest and most difficult, white tees are frequented by the men, gold are often played by seniors, and red tees are what most ladies like the best. So just let the pro know you are staying on site for your discount.

5 FROM THE OFFICE The Management would like all permanent residents to clearly display your site # with numerals that are reflective if possible and large enough to be seen from the roadway. Emergency personnel and mail/package delivery drivers are unable to find numbers on some of the units which could become problematic and delay emergency support to you and yours. Thank You! CONTRACTOR CHECK-IN Reminder to all guests and residents about Contractors you might be using to repair, install or mange your upkeep. For safety and emergency purposes must know who is on the premises working for you. Please have them check in with the office. Remind them to file their credentials. WHEN VISITING THE ALL PURPOSE ROOM To lessen the congestion in the office lobby where campers register, and visitors and contractors check in, it would be appreciated if you would park on the side of the Office and use the poolside entrance to the APR. Alligator mississipiensis CRITTER OF THE WEEK The American Alligator lives in a freshwater habitat but don t be confused we actually have crocodiles here too, but they generally stay in salt and brackish waters in Florida Bay. As you can see these young gators are sunning themselves when water is cool they lay out and bask in the sun to warm up. If they get too warm they open their mouths to express the extra heat. Thought you d like to know! By Joyce Poynter Polk Senior Games This 24th year of the games is open to all residents of Florida 50 years and older. Competition and fellowship, health and wellness, an active lifestyle and volunteerism is promoted. There are 100 events something for everyone. Entry fee $10.00 for first event $3.00 for each additional event up to a maximum of $ So come out and play. Whether you win a medal or not, you will come out a winner for doing your personal best and having a great time.! Booklets and registration forms are in APR. One booklet per family please. You can take a second entry form if needed but take just one booklet. Games begin Feb 27th Mar 12th.
