Those honored at 66 years (left to right) were Gene and Sally Henderson, Harold and Lois Loof, Don and Norma Bargen and Bud and Bev Thompson. Dancing with Your Stars was a huge hit! Carol Tyra (5th from left) took home the Mirrorball Trophy. Joanne Smith (10th from left) came in 2nd place. The other Silveridge Stars were Ellen Jones, Gary LaValley, Leo Jean, and Duane Trouba. All the stars were winners and the ballroom dancers were awesome!

2 Page 2 Message From Sue Activity Director and Editor Here we are my dear Silveridge family right in the middle of our busy season. As I write my letter to you I am filled with love and appreciation to you for your generous support of all our entertainment. The Dancing With the Stars concert has just performed and we are all overwhelmed with the caliber of performance of the dancers -and didn t our own Silveridge Stars do great? Congratulations to all 6 of our performers and thank you for setting the pace for our future Dancing Stars! (mark your calendars for Jan 22, 2015) It is gratifying to hear your compliments on the entertainment. It is the favorite part of my job! I book most of our entertainment the season before, so to see the entertainment finally happen is exciting! I am approached by numerous entertainers who want to come to our park. I do not book anyone without either first seeing them in person or -if they have been referred by you. Please let me know if you have seen an entertainer that you would like to see perform. I am already working on next season and just you wait it gets better every year! Scheduling rooms and events is a big part of my job and as I look at my calendars I am amazed that we get it all in! Every year some talented residents will volunteer their time and teach a new class. This year I have added a Ladies Fashion show for all of us ladies. The Variety Show will be on March 7th. Thanks to Armand Gagnier for organizing it. Thank you to Karen Staker and Betty Shanley for planning the bi-annual Anniversary Party. I know you all appreciated your free 5x7 photo. Not only do I have my calendars at work but also at home. I keep my calendar on the side of the refrigerator to remind me of not just the Silveridge events but also my personal events as well. On the front of the fridge are pictures of my family, quotes, shopping lists, etc. The other day I took down all my Christmas photos of my family and friends. Some of our friends we only hear from at Christmas but what a blessing to hear from them again. It brings back precious memories of times past. Of course the current school pictures of the Grandkids take center stage. And then the magnet beside their pictures that says How old would you be if you didn t know how old you are? There is also a picture of Italy Everyone needs to have a bucket list reminder! Every day I see this hodgepodge of pictures and items plastered on the refrigerator and not given much thought. Yet every single thing-every photo, magnet and note-is a reminder of God s love in my full busy life. It also re-aligns my soul as I try to keep a balance between work and my personal life. Every inch of the front of Mom s refrigerator is plastered with old photos of all of her children and yet every so often there is new photo sandwiched in between some older ones. Memories are a gift and there s always room for more. As we enjoy our precious time we have left here on earth as well here at Silveridge, I encourage you to keep your calendar full, not just with activities but also dates to have personal time with your friends. I talk to many of you who have come back to Silveridge after leaving for different reasons and you say that you missed the people and you just had to come back to see your friends! (and maybe the warm weather too!) While your making memories why not attend the Art Journaling class or join the Camera Club and take some pictures to cover your refrigerator. You may even win an award in the Photography Contest! So my dear friends make the most of your time here and remember there s always room for more!
