4 Community Updates Greetings Corkscrew Shores Residents! With March Madness right around the corner, I wanted to thank each and everyone of you for your participation in the activities we ve hosted at the Clubhouse & Captain s Club in February! With your support, we ve had an amazing second month of 2016, and to celebrate we ve included new activities for you all to try out in March! Two Social Activities that I wanted to share with you all are going to be the Coffee with your Community Association Manager on Saturday, March 5th at 9 AM and a Sunset Social on March 12th from 6-9 PM. The Coffee with your CAM is designed with your concerns and questions in mind. We want to ensure, as managers of your community, that we are listening to all your concerns and questions and are able to better fit this community around what you want to see happening! The Sunset Social will be a Wine Tasting paired with Hors D Oeuvres and Neighborhood Social Gathering for $10. Our Food & Beverage Manager, Kimberly Young, & Executive Chef, Eric Riendeau have created Amazing dinning events for you in March! Meet us at the Captain s Club for St. Patty s Day Celebration, Poolside BBQ, and Easter Sunday Brunch! Don t think we forgot about March Madness! During March 17th April 4th, stop by the bar to pick a rewards card for watching the game with us! Each game that you watch at the Captain s Club you ll receive a punch in your card and when you ve hit 5 you ll receive your choice of a free beer, wine, or appetizer! Starting March 1st, we will be introducing our Subscriber Exclusive List! Want to know more about a specific area, let us know and we ll sign you up! We currently are taking s for the following groups: Lifestyle Activities (Daily Information on Fitness Classes & Activities), Tennis/Pickleball/ Bocce, Captain s Club, & Landscape Updates! 7 Tennis Events Please help me welcome Denny Rager, NSCA-CPT, USPTA-P1 as our new Director of Tennis. Denny is a native of Southwest Florida with over eighteen years of experience coaching athletes and recreationalist of all ages and skill levels to achieve their personal best tennis. Denny s passion for coaching is linking the player s desire to play with their ability to achieve their full potential. While earning his degree in Sports Medicine and Exercise Science at Stetson University, he also played top singles and doubles positions. Denny has participated in exhibitions and clinics with world renowned sports psychologist, Jim Loehr, former USTA s technical development coach, Nick Saviano, and Grand Slam Champions, Stan Smith, Johan Krier, Pat Cash, and the Grand Slam King, Roy Emerson. Denny worked under the legendary coach and author Jak Beardsworth as Director of Tennis Programming for Racquet Sports Management for several years. Clubs to Denny s credit include Lake George Club, Lake Placid Club, Whiteface Club, Dexter s Inn and Tennis Club, and the Boca Grande Club. Locally, he served as the Director of Tennis & Fitness at The Strand for five years. Denny joined the Stock Family in 2003 creating tennis and fitness programs at The Club at Grandezza and The Club at Olde Cypress. He was formerly the Director of Tennis at The Players Club & Spa, home of Swingtime, a Pro-Celebrity Pro-Am Tennis & Golf Tournament, as well as the The Champions Cup, Naples for thirteen years. Denny is USPTA Level 1 Certified Tennis Professional and a NSCA certified fitness professional. He finished 2011 with a USPTA National Ranking of #2 in Men s 35 Singles, as well as #3 in both Men s 35 Doubles and Mixed Open Doubles.
