3 Sign-in: All players, at both the Village and Harker Courts, will be asked to present a valid amenity card. The amenity card allows players to check-in by scanning the barcode on the card at the check-in desks. Your cooperation in having your card available is greatly appreciated. If you need a card, please contact our administrative office and our staff will be happy to assist. Call: Tennis & Pickleball Court Reservations: Property owners may make court reservations 72 hours in advance of play. Residents and guests may make court reservations up to 48 hours in advance. Organized Group Play Reservations for Tennis & Pickleball may be made up to 30 days in advance. Reservations for organized group play is limited to no more than twice a week. Groups of no less than eight (8) may reserve either hard courts or soft courts. Half (50%) or more of all players listed on group rosters must be current Elkhorn property owners. Racquet Programs: Exciting new events are planned for 2018 and our tennis staff wants all owners and guests to get involved. Don t be shy; if you don t have a regular tennis or pickleball partner or game, let the pros know and they will be happy to assist in introductions and help you get involved. Attendance Policy: For the convenience of our property owners and guests all clinics and events are drop-in. If clinics are attended by three or more players, clinics will run as normal. If below min attendance, instructor may substitute private lesson. Ask Pro for details. NO-SHOWS: There is a cancellation policy for all lessons and court reservations. If you do not show for your scheduled lesson without contacting the tennis center 24-hours in advance, you may be responsible for the full rate of the scheduled lesson. If you fail to cancel your court reservation at least 8 hours in advance you may lose your reservation privileges. 2 Page

4 2018 Tennis Director 3 Page Scott Teller Naples, FL SVEA is excited to welcome back Scott Teller for his second year as the on-site racquet sports director for the summer season. Originally from Granville, NY, Scott has been the Director of Tennis at Windstar on Naples Bay for the past seven years. Scott has been a member of one of the most recognized tennis management companies, Peter Burwash International (or PBI ) from Scott has completed over 450 hours of on and off court training on his way to achieving an Elite Professional certification from the USPTA. In 2010, Scott was awarded the PBI Rookie of the Year Award in recognition of his abilities as an instructor. Prior to working at the Windstar Resort, Scott served in Head Professional and Director positions at Silverado Resort in Napa, Ca, the Wyndham Rio Mar Beach Resort in Puerto Rico, and the Four Seasons Resort in Nevis, West Indies, among others. As a player, Scott competed for Endicott College in Beverly, MA where he completed his Bachelor of Science in Sports Management. During his time there, he earned all-conference honors twice and was named team captain during his senior campaign. Scott received his IPTPA certification as a qualified pickleball instructor in 2017 and was the winner of the 1 st annual Sun Valley Pickleball Championship. Off court, Scott completed an internship with the Massachusetts Special Olympics State Office where he helped organize statewide tournaments for soccer and equestrian.

5 Assistant Racquets Professionals Courtney Collins joins our team in her first season with SVEA. A top-level tennis and pickleball player and coach, Courtney is currently working in Palm Desert as a teaching professional to both junior and adults. Courtney has over 10 years of coaching experience and has held the titles of Head Tennis Professional for West Chop Country Club in Nantucket, Massachusetts, as well as being the top assistant at the prestigious Vintage Club in Indian Wells, California. Courtney s father, Cary Collins, is one of the most respected Racquets Directors in the country and has held the top position at the Atlanta Country Club as well as the Indian Wells Tennis Gardens, the site of the 5th grand slam, the BNP Paribas Open. As a player, Courtney had a decorated junior career, played college tennis and captured a Gold Ball for winning the USTA Nationals in Tucson, Arizona. Courtney has three siblings, all of which were top junior players, and all competed at the collegiate level. SVEA welcomes Courtney Collins! Tom Witteveen San Diego, CA Courtney Collins Palm Desert, CA Tom Witteveen joins the program for his first season as Assistant Racquets Professional. Prior to taking his position at Elkhorn, Tom has held several coaching positions. A San Diego native, Tom worked at the Pacific Beach Tennis Club, where he instructed both juniors and adults while managing the pro shop. Prior to taking his position at the Pacific Beach Tennis Club, Tom spent two summers volunteering for One All Tennis, a nonprofit organization designed to introduce the game to underprivileged children in San Diego East County. Tom was a highly ranked junior player and led his high school team by going undefeated for three straight years, capturing the league championship as a senior. He was named MVP twice and Team Captain during his senior campaign. After a successful senior campaign, Tom elected to take his game to the Division 1 level, competing for the University of Montana Grizzlies. Currently, Tom is finishing up his degree in graphic design and looks forward to working with both juniors and adults this summer. SVEA Welcomes Tom Witteveen! 4 Page

6 5 Page Special Events Unlocking Your Peak Performance Dr. Jessyca Arthur-Cameselle Dr. Jessyca Arthur-Cameselle is a former world ranked tennis player and is a professor in sport psychology. Dr. Arthur-Cameselle has assisted athletes of all ages and levels in taking their games to the next level. Leverage your mental game to maximize your on-court potential. A one-hour lecture and question and answer session will be followed by optional round-robin play. Light refreshments will be served out on the Harker Center patio. Registration Required. $55 or $45 (Elkhorn Owners) Special Pickleball Clinics with Tony Tollenaar Tournament Prep Clinic July 19th 10:00 A.M. 12 :00 P.M. Specifically designed for our tournament participants, this 2-hour class will help you and your partner prepare for battle in our second annual Sun Valley Pickleball Club Championships. Tony Tollenaar is one of the top players in the country and has helped players of all abilities both in the United States and abroad. Post-Tournament Recap July 22nd 10:00 A.M. 12 P.M. Our tournament players have the unique opportunity to learn from the observations made from Coach Tollenaar after two fun days of competitive pickleball. After watching the weekend of competition, Tony will help your team prepare for your next battle by sharing his observations on how you can continue to elevate your game. Registration Required. The second annual Sun Valley Pickleball Championship will be held at Elkhorn s Village courts July 20th 21st. Multiple divisions will be offered. Check the SVEA website for more details! Coach Patton has been named NCAA coach of the year twice, has won 25 conference championships and is the 5 National Page USA Team Coach.
